Hello all, am very new to DVB-S and H.264 (only got and installed my first satellite last week) so i apologize if this is a dumb question.

This is a simple question with perhaps a complex answer.

I would like to use Nvidia PureVideo codecs with media portal. but when i try to select them in 'tv config' they do not appear under the h.264 decoding section, they are however under the mpeg 2 decoding section. I have an GF8600 so would prefer to take some of the load off the Cpu if this is possible.

At the moment i am using a trial of coreAVC, this works well for bbc-hd.

My basic question is can i use Nvidia PureVideo codecs for h.264, and if i can will h/w acceleration be utilized:confused:

PS. :D to the media portal team for this ace product

Nvidia PureVideo codec have only MPEG2 decoder. You should try other 3rd party HW accelerated h264 codecs, for example PowerDVD7/8 codecs.
