Synopsis: Occasional skipping (pauses for long enough to notice it - but not too annoying). Every time it pauses I get one of the error groups above in the log.

Searched through a few forum posts, googled etc. but haven't found anyone with the same issue who had a solution.
This used to occur with ShowShifter too - but that was gimpy so I came here to Media Portal :)

It's getting worse :/

Over the last week or so this problem has got worse - now it pauses for 9-10 minutes sometimes at a throw - not impressing the or kids now (They're going to take away my man card soon!)

I've read through this post here which describes the exact same issue, but I don't see a resolution to it there.

Anyone have any ideas? Just grabbing the latest vid card drivers from NVidia now (91.31) but don't hold much hope out for them.

I am having a problem only with the analog channels (PVR 350) where picture occasionaly freezes while audio keeps going and then speeds up to catch audio. Is that the same you have? I've recently formated and reinstalled XP and MP from scratch to try to fix this, but it hasn't helped :( .

DVB-T does not suffer from this problem, only analog. This problem has started since RC4 I think, I never had this problem before (and I've used Media Portal since 0.1.2.0).

What I don't understand... if it was the codec's (purevideo) that is causing the problem... why are only a very select few having the issue and people in the post "best codecs" recommend purevideo all the time. It seems like a lot of people are using these codec's and would have the same problem.. but they are not. I too, am using MPV and MPA.... for what I do.. it works for now.

I think it's to do with the greater number of DVB cards, hence better able to use different codecs, or better put a wider range of codecs.

    Synopsis:: -

Sorry, no help to offer, but I believe I see the same issue here. It occurs approximately once a day. I haven't understood what triggers it yet. This time I went from my tv to the tv guide and directly to full screen tv.
When this issue happens to me the TV looks more like a slide show updated once every one or two seconds. I have also noticed that the hard disk suddenly gets very busy when this happens.

FYI: I had the same until last week, not being able to find out what was causing it. Guess what it was... It was my system HDD dying slowly. After it was dead, I replaced it all is back to normal. No, I did not reinstall, I cloned the old HDD (after putting it into the deep freezer), so it was definately the drive to blame.
I had a funny afternoon, believe me... (Hope you can see the irony in that last sentence...)

mPod, what software did you use to clone your HDD?

    I did some more testing.
First I went in to full screen TV.
Then right-click, select tv guide and just select a channel.
Doing this a few times will trigger the problem, and it won't
go away by changing the channel. A "no signal detected" dialog
pops up and disappears from time to time.
Then I hit ESC to go back to my tv, selected another channel and problem
gone. Tried changing the channel lots of times in this view with no problems.

Tried posting the mediaportal.log to pastebin, but everything on mp.pastebincom seems to be unavailable except from the front page. I didn't get any error.log btw.
