Wow, on first try it looks to have worked, will watch something tonight and let you know how I get on. I really have to ask why does that help? Any other site I've read about setting up Vista tells you to turn Aero off to save resources. Vista really is odd, roll on Windows 7!

EVR will require AERO in Windows 7 as well. AERO is more than just the eye candy you see, its a completely new way of rendering the desktop and EVR is able to perform better with AERO, because it is able to use v-sync without having to have exclusive directx mode used.
