Anyone have problems launching MAME through MyEmulators? I keep getting Direct3D errors, even when not using DirectX as my default video display mode.

I can get MAME+ to play correctly out of MP, but launching a rom within MP gives me the error.

I am using MP RC1, with MyEmulators v2.0, on Vista 32bit, with ATi 8.7 drivers.

Thanks for the help, but that did not resolve the problem.

I still have had no joy in this, anyone have this problem at all? Thanks!

I will post more info tonight, and try updated versions of various MAME GUIs as well.

Have you tried updating your drivers to 8.9? It will probably not do the trick, but it should be the very first thing you try... just to be sure.

Could you post the exact error you get (show us a screenshot)?

Are you using the settings as posted in this thread?

Thanks for your help mate, but somehow it all just worked  I had done nothing different that I know of, and MAMEUI32 now just works properly. Really confused, but very happy, been playing Mr Do, Lock and Chase and Galaga....:D

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Chreekar, great plug-in, and just wondered if there is anything along these lines in the works for you next updates....(cheeky I know, but just to make it look even better...)

Customisable front end

Currently, after selecting myEmulators from the main menu, you are presented with list, icon or large icon view, and if you only have one or two emulators, it looks very sparce. Can a 'filmstrip' view be added, along with the ability to add information on the emulator (maybe from a wiki or an emulator site that explains the emaulator in some way?)and a larger title perhaps?

ROM information

This one is more a 'jolly nice to have' kind of thing as I would imagine it would be very hard to do - sort of like a IMDB scraper, accessing a site such as KLOV.com perhaps? Eg:

Lock n Chase

Maneuver your Lupin character through the maze, dodging the pursuing Super D. Along the pathway, collect as many coins and treasures as possible to earn bonus points. Pressing the lock button opens and closes doorways throughout the maze helping to stall or trap the traveling Super D.

Thanks again for an excellent plug-in, and adding another level of greatness to my HTPC. :D

I've been thinking along the lines of accessing an online database to update the local one nearly as long as I've been working on the plugin. The problem is, I want to have one site to access that has all the information I need, eg NES, SNES, Arcade and so on. I have not found any yet.

Thanks for the reply - I wasnt even thinking about descriptions of other ROMS - that would be a bit of a headache to track ROMS from different sites for different EMUs....

Chreekar, thanks a lot for excellent plugin! I have one feature suggestion - would be possible to password protect certain emulators or ROMs ? I'd like to have all games playable from My Emulators (defining PC Games as emulators) but want to be able to limit access to certain games or ROMs for my son. Thank you!

is there a possibility to use more fileextension than 3? after typing "*.iso; *.bin; *.img;" the line refuses further input... and there would also be *.mdf i'd like to enter aswell...

I only allowed 20 charactes to be stored in the database, that was a bit stupid... I am reworking the database for the next verion, so I will fix it until then.

I do not think I will do that, not yet anyway. Perhaps you can use some third-party software or script to accomplish it?
