would there be a difference between the db used in the versions of MP I'm using - 0.2.3 and 1RC1? Maybe that is the source of the weirdness I am seeing. I am not using the db view (I am viewing by shares), it is really the 'watched' status that I want to be able update from both ends. I guess there's one way to find out... I will report back.

I read the wiki document, and I think it is missing a step. Or something is incorrect.
The wiki has me copy the thumbs, database files, and MediaPortalDirs.xml to a share, then has me edit the xml file on the share. It does not have me copy the edited xml back to the clients.
Don't I need to actually make some changes to the config file on the LOCAL install? Or copy this edited file to each client?

Thanks for pointing this out. reviewed the content and tried to clarify a bit better on the last paragraph.
Must of been a bit drunk that night as I found a lot of spelling mistakes as well.
