    Hallo.
Here comes another idea ( cant stop my self :) ).
Now we can choose beween graphical and non graphical listings for seasons. I was wondering how it would be with a hybride. When a series has wide season banners (example 24 ) this would be showed insted of the text.

ohdarklord I defenitly cannot reproduce that one, I did the very same thing yesterday and it worked fine. Anything in the log?

I had a look in the logs and there was nothing that stood out.

When i get back into mediaportal sometimes I'll find that the files that caused the crash apears 2 or 3 times in the database and sometimes the episode information is wrong.

    This is just a guess

Is it possible that the file is being checked for audio codec, video codec, bit-rate etc before its been fully copied onto the hard drive and this is causes the crash? its just because ive noticed that mp crashes before the file is fully copied.

The reason this is empty for you is because you didn't install the language files into language\MP-TVSeries. Please check if such a folder exists for you under plugins/windows and if so move it to the language subfolder (take care that the folder is named correctly).

Perhaps you should clarify this in the readme.txt, too, as it sais at the moment:
"If you wish to use Translations, copy the folder "MP-TVSeries_lang" and it's content into the same folder as the dll!"

And therefore I first moved the langfiles to the wrong directory, too, before I recognized that the readme is wrong. ;)

    Best regards

Well, yes, the readme is wrong, but I'm not going to update it until a new stable release.

I'll just be so bold and assume that if you use svn versions (which as stated may work, or may not work at all) you read this thread, in which i stated:

Also language files now go to language\MP-TVSeries (you have to move those yourself or you'll get english strings).

I know this isn't ideal but this plugin is already taking up way more of my time than I'd like to admit.

That certainly shouldn't happen. It is true that it will attempt to read out mediainfo and fail to do so if the file isn't complete yet, however that shouldn't cause a crash but rather mark the episode as needing info to be parsed again at a later time. It will continue to attempt to read those infos up to (I think) 6 times, after which it is assumed the file is either broken or not supported by mediainfo.dll. It is possible this logic is a bit buggy, but I don't think it should crash, ever!

odd thing, I just reinstalled windows xp on my computer, downloaded Media Portal and innstalled that, downloaded MP-TV-series stable version, innstalled it too, worked perfectly, but then when I was innstalling the SVN version and entered media portal config, it said:

"An error occured while loading the plugin MediaPortal.GUI.Video.TvSeriesPlugin.
It's incompatible with the current MediaPortal version and won't be loaded."

    Something I did wrong or?

Honestly, I don't know. What if a season has a wide banner for 1 season, but not for another? I also kinda wanna go into a feature freeze and only fix bugs and then get a new stable version out. About time.

Did anybody get to try loading diff. languages yet? Does it work, bugs, etc?

This would be the perfect time to head over to www.TheTVDB.com (yes, they have a new domain) and add a description for your favourite show in your language.

Also, don't forgot to click their banners, it is very important the site stays alive and healthy, and its the users that can make that happen. Lastely, I believe Scott is looking for people willing to host mirrors soon, so if you could help out there, please make sure to drop him a line.
