I've installed 2.7 now, but typically, MediaPortal starts just fine when launched from Watchdog, lol. It seems to be consistent on hanging while being started as Windows starts though. I don't put my HPTC to sleep, I always turn it off completely, so MediaPortal starts "cold".

These are the processes active in the Task Manager when MediaPortal has stopped loading:

Attached are Watchdog (X64) logs for a successful launch from Watchdog.

hm, those logs doesn't seem to help if its starting ok
it could theoretically be that the webview component needs network to start up successfully
Can you add a depenency on network fully started to the mp-startup script? (or maybe just for testing: add a sufficiently large delay to it, that way we can be fairly sure that network is the culprit)

that depends on where it is called...
but i think for a first test, adding a sufficient delay in that script before starting MP and see if that solves the issue will give good confidence on if it is viable in the first place

I tried the third option in Watchdog after I had killed a hanged MediaPortal too, not sure if it's any help to you though.

    was that after a reboot?
    And indeed no onlinevideos.log.
The first thing that should be there is "WebViewHelper created successfully" so i suspect that this might indeed be the blocking issue.
Can you add a delay of f.e. 1 minute? (assuming that your system is fast enough to get everything up and running in 1 minute? if not maybe 2 or 3 minutes)
What exactly do you use to autostart MP? scheduled task, windows autoruns, others? and how does that script look like, so I can suggest (if you dont know yourself) how to add that delay

I've just set it up to start when Windows starts in MediaPortal Configuration:

    General
    Startup/Resume settings
    Autostart MediaPortal on Windows startup

I will try removing it from that and restart, then wait a couple of minutes and see if that works.

It seems to work. Maybe my HTPC is getting too old. :( I will try this way for a while, just to make sure it works every time.

Well, if the issue is really in init of webview2 then try this: in MP exe folder there is a file with name 'Microsoft.Web.WebView2.WinForms.dll'. Rename this file to something else. OV will rise file not found exception(in OV log) upon init and will continue to load.
