New version released. See 1st post for details.
I didn't test this release thoroughly so it may have some bugs. If you find any, please let me know.

Really great Plugin! :D

I've looked through it and everything seems to work quite well except Apple Trailers where I can hear only sound but can't see the video. Maybe it's something with my configuration so it would be great if anyone else could test it.

That was it. Now it's working!

I should have read the few lines from the readme better.

Ver nice work and the <ConfirmAge> Tag doesn't have negativ affects anymore, but the Thumbs Path is set wrong.
C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal/Thumbs/OnlineVideos/
1. It uses the wrong Slashes
2. My installation is at "Programme" not at "Program Files", its the wrong Path for german WinXP. But pro it creates this Path ;)

Another Problem, Downloading and put to Favorites don't work(tested only Youtube). It gives Exceptions, logs are attached.

I can get all the menus and it pulls all the thumbs for the clips but wont play them - it just locks upp and shows a black square in the top left of the screen.

I then have to kill MP as i cant get out of the plugins menus

I also had the black square problem and I solved it by installing the newest version of Flash in Internet Explorer:

http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash

In the MediaPortal configuration I enabled the FLVplayer. Now everything works without any problem. :)

I have only one problem

When browsing with remote control if you at the end of the "video thumbs row" press RIGHT -> you end up at "show page row " [1][1]. And you cant exit from there with remote control.
reboot or plug in mouse to exit.

gregmac, is there a way to add other sites yet/planned?
I tried to add the following into the xml (the config doesn't seem to allow you to add sites):
Code:
<site>

http://channel9.msdn.com/rss.aspx?ShowID=1

</site>
This feed contains .wmv links as mms/http as well as on some items wma/mp3 links. It would be cool if it would show items, and upon clicking scan all the fields for recognized link patterns, and if more than one is found give you a pop-up with the link title/name. Ideally one could define prefered patterns for a site, so you could say mms://*.wmv and it would play automatically and the context menu will allow you to choose the other options if you prefer.

Does that make sense?

Edit: Also, any chance you could remember the list mode between sessions? It always starts with icon view for me, which I find pretty useless personally ;-)

Inker, additional sites cannot be added by just adding entry in the xml. Addidtional sites require corresponding classes that know how to get the video url from the rss.

I'll add class to handle channel6.msdn.com. It should be in the next release.

Ah, I see. I was thinking more in the lines of making it more general, in that it scans everything that comes back from an rss for multimedia links (like mms or even http wmv links). Then it could (hopefully) work for more sites with less coding from you.

In any case, thanks for adding the site ;-)
