Hi,

This has been going on for a long time now, thought it was time to start a thread and try to find out what the problem is.
When I press 'shift + 1' to bring up information on frames per second etc, I notice that on the 720p channels I'm only getting 37.5fps. 1080i channels play at a nice smooth 50fps.
I cleared all logs, started MediaPortal, entered MyTV, went fullscreen on a 1080i channel. I pressed 'shift + 1' and got 50fps; I changed to 720p channel and dropped to 37.5fps; changed back to 1080i channel and went back to 50fps. I exited MyTV, closed MediaPortal, and collected and attached logs. Would really appreciate someone looking into this and seeing what is going on - I'm not the only one this is happening to, as seen in this post.

I also noticed these lines in my MediaPortal.log -

2008-08-10 14:32:43.828125 [Debug][MPMain]: VMR9: SetDeinterlaceMode - FormatType = VideoInfo2
2008-08-10 14:32:43.828125 [Debug][MPMain]: VMR9: SetDeinterlaceMode - Interlaced frame detected
2008-08-10 14:32:43.828125 [Info.][MPMain]: VMR9: No H/W de-interlaced modes supported, using fallback preference

Does this mean my 1080i channels are not being de-interlaced?

Cheers,

Trav.

Hi,

I'm using RC2 with svn19876 - reported issues with using secondary display, and recent requirement for installation of WMP11, have kept me from trying later svn's.
In answer to your question - No, I've never got it fixed and never been able to find out what the problem is; still getting 37.5fps in progressive channels.

Its the cyberlink codec. I changed to ArcSoft TotalMedia codec and this has fixed the issue for me.

Yeah, I guess it's the Cyberlink Codec. However, how did you manage to get the ArcSoft Codec to work in MediaPortal? I thought that codec is only usable via the Arcsoft Mediacenter, just like the WinDVD 9 codec is only usable via WinDVD itself.

The ArcSoft TotalMedia codec doesn't work for me - tried it before, but just tried it again - using the ArcSoft TotalMedia codec the fps fluctuates all over the place between 32 - 45fps, and drops frames. The rock-solid 37.5fps I get with Cyberlink is preferable to a frame rate that's all over the place.
How is it that a 50fps feed gets displayed at 37.5fps, but no frames are dropped?

How exactly do I obtain the Arcsoft TotalMedia codec? Should I just install "Arcsoft TotalMedia extreme"?
