In my case, I dont put the years in my series name and all the local episodes parses fine. The local_episodes table in properly filled in. Only the online episodes are missings or the links are not successfully created.
Well, I've found out that for some reason my database doesn't work with MP RC2 and the latest plugin. For some reason it lists only 95 series, 328 seasons and 0 episodes... I can't really "rebuild" the database as it includes over 2000 episodes spread over several dvd's. I managed to work around it by reverting to RC1 and then using version 1.1 of the plugin...
Hope this goes away for the next build, or i'm in deep trouble, heheh.
Ok in my case, i deleted & rebuilt the database several times with various options and I always get the same result. I also tried 3 different SVN version of MP-TVSeries. Same problem...
I'm new to MP and installed this plugin. After importing, it seemed to list all my episodes on the actual Meedia Portal GUI, but clicking on them did nothing. I re-entered the plugin config and noted that the splash screen shows "107 series, 836 seasons, 0 episodes". The series listing shows each series, but doesn't expand out to show series and episodes, even though the parsing test found each series/season/episode.
So I deleted the library and re-ran it. Same thing again. So I read this thread and noted that I should use the latest build so I downloaded that one (which is actually quite old I believe).
<rant>
I've got 13000 episodes over 107 series, all standardised to <series>\Season <season>\<episode> - <episodename>.avi.
Every time I run the importer it takes several hours or days to complete, because it seems to randomly prompt me to clarify certain series names, even though the name I have is >absolutely identical, character for character, case for case, special characters etc. < .... EXACTLY the same.
I'm ranting because it means I have to manually click on the EXACT SAME NAME to allow it to continue, then go away for a while to do something else, and come back a few minutes later to click again. It's taken 3 days to finish this because I can't afford to sit here all day and night waiting for it to prompt me!
It would be so nice if there was an option to automatically select the series if it is EXACTLY the same. Oh, and I already have (and have double-checked) "Auto-Choose series when multiple entries are returned from the Online Database" ticked.
Aargh. Ok, I feel better </rant>
Anyway, at the end of this latest attempt, you guessed it, it's only showing one episode from each series. Strangely, the log shows that it is finding strange numbers for each series, like "21 matches found for The Simpsons" (I have every episode from 18 years), "2 matches for Frasier", "4 matches for Seinfeld", etc. - I have no idea what those numbers correspond to. As I said, the parsing test finds all 7000 episodes with only the rare one with a parsing mistake. The log also clearly shows that it is finding each episode, eg:
"Attempting to read MediaInfo for \\blah\tv\The Mavericks\Season 02\16 - Handyman goes Shopping.avi"
"Successfully read Mediainfo for \\blah\tv\The Mavericks\Season 02\16 - Handyman goes Shopping.avi"
etc. for several thousand lines.
I'm happy to help debug in any way I can. I tried to cut/paste the log but it doesn't allow it, which kind of defeats the reason for having a logging system in a way!
In online data synch have you tried enabling
Automatically choose series when only one exact match is found online
Also, looks like you are using a network for some files,
I have to enable "Keep reference to files that are not available"
or it will lose episodes sometimes.
bleubleu, what is the EXACT build number of the plugin that you experience this? MP RC2? with/without SVN?
Please attach a log somewhere for when you only get one episode.
The latest STABLE build of the plugin (everything that you can get from the mP download page) may give you weird errors with MP RC2 (as I've said before, because RC2 updated the sqllite.dll which the plugin also uses for the database and it changed slighty).
So def. make sure you use a build from this page if you use RC2 or higher!
I use some SVN version of RC2 (16128 if anyone cares) and the MP-TVSeries from the forum (1.2.9.38650) and this combination seems to only get the 1st episode of each series.
I think the error is related to RC2 and 3. I've tried version 1.1 and 1.2 of the plugin in RC2 and 3 and the same error keeps occurring... Had to revert back to RC1 to keep using my database.
