I havent heard back from CCMatrix about posting the tool, so heres the link.

http://www.codename-matrix.de/download/MediaRenamer.msi

Matrix, let me know if you would like me to remove the link, cheers.
I am currently waiting feedback from some users who are testing the applications to ensure that they work without any problem. That doesn't meen that it doesn't work at the moment and I have tested it with several thousand episodes so far. As soon as the testing is done I will create a seperat thread for the applications.

Matrix your tool is brilliant and it works. I have also tested it with many series and it works perfectly. My only problem is that i cant still get it work when i right click on an avi or mkv file. The TV Showrenamer option dosent came up. I tested it with Win2003 server, winXP MCE OS.

It would also be a good idea to start a new thread for this so that we can keep track of it on its own thread.
I totally agree. I created a new thread for the Media Renamer at https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/showthread.php?p=95672

Hi -

Great plugin, thanks for your work...

Not sure if anyone's mentioned this somewhere in the 35 pages but a suggestion for when the plugin is doing its automatic local scan: If it hits a file that causes the "what series is this?" dialog to appear in the background, the dialog should time out after a certain amount of time.

I've got files going directly into the storage directory and it isn't always possible to rename them first. So I've ended up with situations where the plugin just hangs there forever... Not a huge deal, just untidy.

Has anyone heard from zeflash lately ?

Not that he does not deserve some free time, it´s just so...unusual.....

I think, he is on vacation (three, long weeks) ....

Funny how people "know" about my whereabouts ;)

No I'm not in vacation, I was just working on repairing my HTPC for satellite reception - turned out a simple card reader on the COM port unleashed a world of pain on me, ending with me having to replace the motherboard of the HTPC as it kept bluescreening all the time (with the COM reader plugged in ... don't ask me why).

Anyway, now that the wife & kid have TV again, I'm gonna start working on the plugin again. Don't really remember where I left though :)

I had a friend install it and (as expected) he stumbled into a lot of errors, most of which I believe I have fixed in my current code base. I'll try fixing those bugs first, I'm also planning to add a way to "hide" items (series / seasons / episodes) - meaning they won't be showing in the UI and they won't be scanned again either.

And given I finally gave up on azureus to use utorrent for good, in the near future I plan to implement a way to automatically trigger the download of an episode via the MP UI, in case somehow the episode wasn't downloaded via RSS scanning means.

And I'm also trying hard to do a feature to help me with a tedious task: subtitles retrieval for episodes. Problem is, it's extremely dependent on how things are organized on the subtitle website, so in order for people to add other websites it's gonna need some deep thinking.

And (yeah, lots of ands) in the long term I might also start a "my movies" plugin because I find the MP movies support horrendous (be it the scanning part which takes about 2 hours for 50 files, or the way things are displayed in the UI - what's the point of downloading actors & all that shit if it's not possible to SHOW that info in the UI anyway???)

But that's far, far away from now. we'll see how much time I can put in those projects. I try not to be selfish but when the plugin does what I want it to do I find it hard to motivate myself & spend hours on things others are asking for...

anyway. I'll try to release an update (0.6, yeah !!!) this weekend or next week.

Awesome zeflash! We appreciate your efforts trust me ;)

With regards to my request for allowing backed up stuff to be reflected in the list and asking for the DVD, dont stress too much. I have found a work around where i make a dummy avi which Flashes "Please insert relevant TV DVD" on the screen so your plugin thinks that the eps are there. If there was a way to flag it as "Backed up" so you can see in MP-TVseries episode view which eps are physically there and which are backed up to DVD without have to play the dummy avi, that would be cool.
