A bug:

I have a problem with the Danish special characters: æøå ÆØÅ.
They don't get parsed.

Example:
Det Røde Kapel http://tvdb.zsori.com/?tab=series&id=79622

In config the show's title is: Det Rde Kapel (missing the "ø")
The plots don't have the æøå either.

Edit:

It's the online database information that isn't getting parsed properly. MP-tv series returns the correct series name, but when it searches the online database it finds the series name without the special characters. (Hope it makes sense :) )

    Hi,

just tested 0.6 and actually, I can´t see any difference :-( (might be me)

The episode information is still not shown, do I have to reparse the files ?

    Hi zeflash -

    Here was my upgrade process:

    1) Rename database/TVSeriesDatabase4.db3 to TVSeries-Backup.db3
    2) Rename/backup plugins/windows/MP-TVSeries.dll to MP-TVSeries.dll.05c, and copy new dll
    3) Rename/backup the skins files, and copy new? versions

Now, start configuration, Plugins, MP-TVSeries, Configuration ...

... and then it locks up.

It appears as if the plugin is now not able to create the template/blank configuration. About 7k of TVSeriesDatabase4.db3 is created, however after that you have to terminate the configuration process.

Here were the last two lines in the log:

    12/9/2006 12:48:37 PM - Sucessfully opened database 'C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Database\TVSeriesDatabase4.db3'.
    12/9/2006 12:48:39 PM - Commit failed on this command: <DROP TABLE series> (SQL:TVSeriesDatabase4.db3 cmd:sqlite3_prepare16:pvm=null err:ERROR detailed:no such table: series query:DROP TABLE series).

Dropping back to 0.5c here for the moment.

    Thanks!

Yeah, i noticed that too. All i did was dump one of my blank 0.5c created databases in the folder and then the new plugin started fine.

Works well, parses 5800 TV episodes no worries. Still doesnt download episode summaries anymore but other than that works well :D

    Hi -

Agreed, used same method to get going, and with approximately the same number of episodes here, parsing test completed in just over 6min, and complete re-import took 16min however -

Bug: Confirming that episode summary import is still broken (or not supported). Is it an intention to support this?

Bug?: After using the 'blank config' created by 0.5c, when attempting update the configuration in Import Settings/Parsing Expressions to add another regexp to the list, and enable it, and disable all the others, this work does appear to persist as I navigate the various "Import Settings" screens, and across the other 2 tabs, but if I exit MP-TV Series Configuration window by using the CloseWindow control (The 'X' in upper right corner), and then re-open MP-TV Series Configuration, it appears as if the changes I made in Import Settings/Parsing Expressions were not saved. I was doing this to try to create a 'blank-configured' version of the database which I could archive, and then reuse to test the next time I wanted to try to do a full import.

It could be that this tab/screen's changes are only saved as you perform a Parsing Test, I don't know.

Bug: When scrolling/displaying the series view in MediaPortal in 'Text' form (my preference), when the series Genre field is empty, the series description field is not updated with the descriptive text for that series, and instead the series description for the previous series that was displayed is retained, even though the series description data for *this* series is correct and present in the database.

Not so much a Bug as Weird: I also noticed that the status bar update hook does appear to work OK if you maintain focus of the MP-TVSeries configuration window, but if you switch focus away, and then back again, does not appear to be in a place such that it is updated when the import routine is 'working hard'.

This may be a process priority issue, I don't know, but the only way I can determine that MP-TVSeries is working vs. locked after switching window focus away
is watching it in Task Manager/Processes. Parsing runs at about 50% utilization, and Import runs around 30-35%.

Suggestion: During parsing test process, suggest changing 'Start Import' button/control to an 'Abort' control as in Import process, and allow cancellation of process.

Suggestion: Include the date/time stamp on log entries in the configurator log display window.

That's all I could thrash out for today - keep up the great work zeflash!

    Best regards.

I don't understand which problem you are describing. On my end I'm always seeing the episode summary. But then it could be linked to a bug I found related to what you were reporting for the empty Genre. So try again & tell me if it still does that.

I tried to add / removed reular expressions as well as checking / unchecking some; everything worked as expected, and my settings were (as they are supposed to) retained from one session to the other

Bug: When scrolling/displaying the series view in MediaPortal in 'Text' form (my preference), when the series Genre field is empty, the series description field is not updated with the descriptive text for that series, and instead the series description for the previous series that was displayed is retained, even though the series description data for *this* series is correct and present in the database.

fixed. This might also solve your summary issue, I don't know.

Well I actually do change the name of the button. And I haven't been able to repro the thing you are seeing either.

Suggestion: Include the date/time stamp on log entries in the configurator log display window.

    Added.

That's all I could thrash out for today - keep up the great work zeflash!

Thanks for this great bug report, very concise, very helpful. I'm release 0.6b - I don't think I'll ever manage to actually release a version without having to do a quickfix right after :(

Yes, I know, I just fixed it :(
I'm going to do releases on sourceforge also (immediate download for you, and it's retaining old versions too).
