I have a requests

I would like to have my mouse work within the plugin. Both in the menus and in the player.

I don't use my mouse very often but when I am closer to my computer than I am the remote, I like to use it.

I think a problem I am having has something to do with that. The OSD does not show up on my screen during playback when I hover the mouse over it, but if I go down to where the buttons are I can use all the buttons if I click where they are suppose to be.

The mouse should work just fine. There is nothing in the plugin that would stop this. Does the mouse work for you in other parts of MP? Can anyone confirm the mouse isn't working (works for me)?

Cool, wondered what i'd botched up when I upgraded. Bizarely couldn't see anything in the logs.

Edit: I can confirm giving write access to the share stops this occuring.

Don't worry about it, it's already fixed in the next release :)

Hi Guys, Is the best place to report a bug? I've already reported this and I don't know if it's a MP bug or a MPTVseries bug. He is how to reproduce:

    1.Load MP
    2.Select My Tv Series
3.Pick an episode from a series and start watching.
4.Press escape so you get back to the episode selection screen(Episode is still playing in bottom right corner)
5.press "stop" on remote or keyboard.
6.See the bug. A spinning green circle appears in the middle of the screen(Wait cursor) dosn't go away!

Can anyelse verify this? Or am i just loosing my mind. Sorry to go on about this, but it would be cool to get it fixed. Maybe it's nothing to do with MPTVSeries?? But thats where I can re-produce the fault.

    :)

Do you still see this issue with the latest release?

    Mouse works for me(clean install/database).
Had some crashes but thought they were my own fault, it was exactly the same steps though as above only it gave a .net framework crash window in the back(mp is set to always on front).
When i get it again i will post the debug log :)

I just started noticing this bug with the newest version. I think I upgraded from 0.5 or 0.6.

I have this to. If I stop the movie when it is full screen all is good. If I ESC back to the episode list and stop the movie, the "wait" circle comes up and will not go away.
Also if the circle is up and I go to the home screen, I get two of them circleing away.

    0.8 testing results

    Hi zeflash -

Sorry I have not been able to test 0.8 until now - pretty busy over here getting ready for the holidays!

Thank you for adding the multiple-episode logic, with very little modification, I was able to use one of the two "advanced regexp's" you provided.

The good news is that it generally worked here, however I wanted to report a couple of things.

My test PC environment: I'm testing 0.8 on 0.2.1.0 running Mepo Black Wide, which is a BlueTwo clone. I started from 'scratch', eg. I backed up my previous TVSeriesDatabase4.db3. My video tree is SMB-mounted on M:, containing approx 2TB/5800 episodes. I do have r/w access to this tree on my test PC, and therefore did not run across the other reported bug.

Issue 1) When initially importing or updating the DB, I am noticing that there are some SQLite errors when it is importing/updating the episode associated with the <episode2> tag.

For instance, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, episode 1x01 is named:

    M:\Video\TV\All\Star Trek - Deep Space Nine\Season 1\Star Trek - Deep Space Nine [1x01-02] Emissary.avi

Here is the parsing expression I used:

    ^.*?\\?(?<series>[^\\$]+?)\[(?:s(?<season>[0-1]?\d)e(?<episode>\d\d)|(?<season>(?:[0-1]\d|(?<!\d)\d))x?(?<episode>\d\d))(?!\d)(?:[ .-]?(?:(?<episode2>\d\d(?!\d))|E(?<episode2>\d\d)|(?:\d\d|(?<!\d)\d)x?(?<episode2>\d{2}(?!\d)))|)\][ -.]*(?<title>[^\\]*?(?<HR>HR\.)?[^\\]*?)\.(?<ext>[^.]*)$

This is essentially the one you provided, I just added expressions to drop the '[' and '] surrounding the Season x Episode number.

When I use Parsing Test, everything works great. This episode is parsed properly, and in the "EpisodeIndex2" field, you see "02".

STDS9 is series id 72073 in tvdb. If you view the logs during Import in the UpdateEpisodes phase, you see that the first episode is imported properly:

    12/21/2006 10:56:11 PM - Updating data for 72073_4x11
    12/21/2006 10:56:11 PM - Updating data for 72073_4x1
    12/21/2006 10:56:11 PM - Updating data for 72073_1x1

    12/21/2006 10:56:11 PM - Updating data for 72073_6x1
    12/21/2006 10:56:11 PM - Updating data for 72073_6x1
    12/21/2006 10:56:11 PM - Updating data for 72073_7x1
    12/21/2006 10:56:11 PM - Updating data for 72073_7x1
    12/21/2006 10:56:11 PM - Updating data for 72073_2x1
    12/21/2006 10:56:11 PM - Updating data for 72073_2x11
    12/21/2006 10:56:11 PM - Updating data for 72073_3x11

    12/21/2006 10:56:11 PM - Updating data for 72073_5x1

But when the second (simulated) episode information is updated, you get a 'Commit' error:

    12/21/2006 10:56:32 PM - Updating data for 72073_1x2

    12/21/2006 10:56:32 PM - Updating data for 72073_1x2

Interestingly enough, the episodes do display OK in MP when running the plugin, and I am able to play/resume both entries, and the 'played' status color is correctly applied to all of these entries.

Issue 2) This isn't so much a bug as a suggestion for enhancement. The multiple episode import logic works OK for 2 episodes, but not for multiple episode files that span more than 2 episodes. This often happens for mini-series, and pilots which span more than 2 episodes.

I do have a number of these in my database, eg:

    Battlestar Galactica (2003) [2x21-30] Resistance.avi

What is cool is that the '30' is properly parsed, and db entries for ep21 and ep30 are created, and they are displayed and can be played properly, however 22-29 are greyed-out. It would seem to me that you could easily add looping logic to allow the import/update process to occur for all 10 of the episodes, just as you would for 2 episodes. The number of iterations are of course <episodeindex2>-<episode>+1.

Issue 3) The log file is now getting quite large, even at 'Normal' reporting level. Perhaps another lower level of log verbosity is needed. (Terse?)

Also - I am not able to repeat the spinning-circle bug you asked about

These are the only things I could find so far, and in fact because all that Issue 1 seems to do is generate odd log entries, I decided to continue using 0.8 on a regular basis here.

    :D

Yep still seeing this with 0.8
    Variation on the theme:
When I'm watching an episode, then go "back" to home then to TV I still see the episode playing in the TV box and I can't turn TV on and I can't stop the episode playing (Pressig "stop" just causes the dreaded spinning circle of death ;) )

Cheers to all who help with this awesome plug-in :D

Anyway i was just doing some stuff on my htpc when i noticed that my media portal folder was very large.
after a bit of investagating i found that the mp-tvseries log was 1.19GB

Im upgradig to the new mp-tv series now but i thought it was worth bringing up incase all the versions have this problem.
