Re: [plugin] "My NetFlix" Plugin with Watch Now Support

I have to say this a great plugin. I seem to be having one problem. I have tried both versions of your plugin and 1.0.2 and 1.1 of MP on a Win 7 64bit box and for some reason about %50 of the time when I switch to a Netflix video and then back it looses focus. I would love to use this as my primary application to view Netflix. Please any ideas how to fix this would be greatly appreciated. :D

    Hey Mike,
    Thanks for the feedback!

Can you better define 'switch' for me? Do you use the stop button on the remote to end the movie? Are you using Alt-F4?

    Thanks

I use the stop button on the remote. When I click stop it shuts down netflix but does not return to MP. If I move the mouse it brings everything back to normal. I have tried this on 3 Win 7 boxes all with the same problem.

    Thanks

Below is step by step of the issue that I am having.

    Open MP
    Select Netflix
    Select a movie
Netflix opens and when it opens you can see the taskbar and MP is not showing on the taskbar.
Then go to the task manager to see if MP is running and under Applications MP is not listed but Netflix Movie Player is listed.
Now I close the task manager and have to put the movie back to full screen because for some reason when I open up task manager it took the movie out of full screen.
Now I press ALT+F4 to exit Netflix.
The Netflix Movie Player is still on the taskbar and you can hear the sound of the movie. Also the Show Desktop icon pops up for a few seconds right above the clock.
Now I press ALT+F4 again and it closes down the Netflix Movie Player.
Now that the Netflix Movie Player is closed you can see the desktop and the taskbar does not show that MP is running.
Double click on the MP icon pull MP back up again right where you left off like it was minimized.

Hope this helps a bit more!

Ok I figured it out and would like to tell you what the problem was so you can tell others.

If you are running themes in Windows 7 MP will loose focus when using the Netflix plugin.

All you need to do it right click on the MP icon and go to Compatibility and then check off the following.

    Disable Virtual Themes
    Disable Desktop Composition

This fixed the focus issue for me.

I am glad that I figured it out due to the fact that you made a such a great Netflix Plugin.

Re: [plugin] "My NetFlix" Plugin with Watch Now Support

I recently had to switch my x64 install in favor of an x86 and I tried using the Import/Export settings plugin to copy everything over. Everything transferred pretty well but unfortunately when I try to launch Netflix I get the error that it can't find the Netflix executable for the browser even though I have it set to use Firefox. The executable it is trying to launch is under Program Files (x86). Problem is that folder does not exist on the new 32 bit system. What is the best way to fix this?

    Hey In2Photos,
You can delete the MyNetflix Database, and then re-configure the My NetFlix plugin. The 'base' location is stored in the database (e.g. "C:\Program Files (x86)", etc...) and if it changed from "Program Files (x86)" to "Program Files", it wouldn't be able to find the browser.

Any idea why any keys dont work once a video is playing? Enter, Esc, Space dont do anything for me. So once I have a video playing, I have to get up and manually close the Netflix player window.

    Hey asr10,
Sorry for the late reply, for some reason I didnt see your post. Did you figure out your issue? Are you using a remote with your setup?
