I just tried your plugin with MP v0.2.1.0 (feature release) and got this error
Code:
31/10/2006 14:42:04 531 [ERROR] Exception: System.TypeLoadException: Could not load type 'MediaPortal.Dialogs.VirtualSearchKeyboard' from assembly 'Dialogs, Version=0.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null'.
   at MesFilms.MesFilms.OnMessage(GUIMessage messageType)
   at MediaPortal.GUI.Library.GUIWindowManager.SendMessage(GUIMessage message)
(did manage to get it to work in old v1.2.0.4)

I converted the mediaportal MyVideos database to ant xml format as detailed here
https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/showthread.php?t=12408

Just had a quick play with Ant and a bit confused. Only option available in prefs for storing filepath is url field, but this is then used when you import imdb info writing over it.
quick Mod to IMDB script for now, moving url field to source field, is there a better way?
Code:
  if CanSetField(fieldURL) then
  begin
    if (GetField(fieldSource) = '') and (CanSetField(fieldSource)) then SetField(fieldSource, GetField(fieldURL));
    SetField(fieldURL, MovieURL);
  // XXX Original Title & Year
  end;
Only useful option for image filename aquired by imdb import is to use translated title which is sometimes a long convoluted name.

Another problem is Ant seems to only use 1 filename per record (what if movie is split into 2 or more parts?)

Looking at it in 0.2.0.4 this plugin seems to work a lot more how I'd want then MyVideos. I realised you can have multiple genres and actors comma seperated. It would be nice if you could do the same for filenames and then show that multi disk icon used in MyVideos.

Also if you select a different view eg year (same for genre, actor etc) and select a year, if you then press back to choose a different year you are thrown back to the mediaportal root menu out of MyFilms when it should go back to listing the years. When you leave it could remember the view and position you were last at so when you return you are where you last were in the menu structure.

Lastly I noticed that if the item is a DVD it doesn't prompt with the media label when you go to play it so I dont know which disk number it's on. I set Secondary title = MediaLabel as workaround.

Would like to tweak the source code myself if you make it available.

cheers

Anxiously awaiting support for 0.2.1.0

Just found this (very much needed) plugin after I installed 0.2.1.0. Didn't work. So I stepped back to previous stable release and worked fine. However I need to run 0.2.1.0 - so just waiting for this plugin to be updated......

me too.
i love this plugin. it even works fine with the great mepo-skins (if you just copy the included skin files also into the mepo-skin folder and...ok you have to replace one .png file with a mepo of your choise to get rid of the blue2-ludo-figurine ;) )
regards

Machismo

this is the way i'm using the plugin:

i set "Ant Item for Storage File Info" to "MediaLabel" and in the ant movie catalog i entered only the file name of my avi files into the MediaLabel field.

then in the plugin-config under "search path for file read" i entered my hdd-paths divided by semicolons eg. "C:\movies; D:\moreMovies; F:\"

sorry, i tried this again and it seems not to work in 0.2.0.4 but i was sure it did in 0.2.0...strange

hello,

I am looking at alternatives to MCE - MyMovies. One of the things One thing that is painful (in the current builds) of Mymovies is that when the DB grows to about 500 movies, it slows down bad. Does MyFims handle bigger DB's (1000 titles +) fast or does it slow down alot when the ANT DB gets bigger

I have over 6000 entries ( a lot of music videos) and MyFilms performs very quickly. I found myVideos in Mediaportal may run slow if the thumbnails are not nice and small, MyDVD's performs very badly (over 2 mins to load) with a large db. Of the 3 MyFilms is way out ahead (imho) in speed and useage. Ant makes everything so much more useable.
