In my case one example of an HD channel that I have in my zap2it Local Broadcast Listings lineup shows up like this:

Ch Station
2 KTVU
2-1 KTVUDT
2-2 KTVUDT2
A few weeks ago, zap2it decided to change the channels to only list the broadcast numbers. It looked something like:

Ch Station

2 KTVU
30 KTVUDT
30 KTVUDT2

When I checked last week, it is back to the first example.

I recall reading in the zap2it forums that you might only have to modify your lineup, save it, and then view it again and it should show the channels in the new/correct format again. If not you may have to do what I did (before I read that) and delete and add the local broadcast line up again.

I understand what you are saying. I read your post a few days ago and tried everything you wrote 3 times... heh ....At first my channel listings would not download at all. now they download but ch.2 and ch.3 are reversed and stuck that way. CH.2 has no show info and when i change to this ch. it bogs down my computer for like 20 seconds.The listing tags have changed on my cable company's TV guide channel but when I enter them as they are listed it doesn't help. I will try to delete the channels and rescan as you said...I think I had this problem before and after many times of doing this it corrected itself.

Maybe if you could post your epg.log file in the MediaPortal/log directory, some of us could take a look at it and see what's going on?

Maybe I can help explain.

Because a stations digital ATSC signal is broadcast on a different frequency than the analog signal, the ATSC tuners are designed to remap the digital channel number to match the analog channel number. Stations have spent a lifetime getting the viewers to associate the channel number with the station, so this is to accomidate them.

As an example, my local FOX affiliate broadcasts on analog channel 6. The digital version is broadcast on channel 33. Digital tuners will remap the channel so that it appears to come in on channel 6. If I enter 33 on the remote, the tuner says 6. Because digital broadcasts are capable of multicasting, the station is listed as 6-1. If they were multicasting, there would be a 6-2, 6-3 etc.

As far as zap2it is concerned, what I had to do is delete the existing lineup and select a new lineup. That's all you need to do.

Well....I got it working again. I just kept trying different orders of deleting, rescanning and renaming channels. My cable company likes to rename some of their local channel ID's alot lately. zap2it doesn't have the right tags for 3 stations and it was a pain to get the old names cleared out and rescaned in the right order. The checkbox for auto renaming channels for zap2it plugin might have been fighting me all the way. Not real sure...but all is well...finally!

I need support from you zap2it users! I have submitted a bug over HERE about the new tv engine not importing the frequencies. This is needed to use the zap2it plugin. The more people post in there, the better chance we have to getting this fixed sooner. Show your support for this killer plugin!

I have been having a problem with the zap2it plugin for a couple of weeks now. When I first open MP and go into the TV guide, I can tell that the zap2it plugin is downloading the program information (because only some of the programs will show up). I exit the guide, go back to the guide, and more programs have shown up. Then, I wait a few minutes, exit the guide, and go back to the guide, and everything is gone (except the channel numbers).

So, I am not sure why zap2it STARTS downloading the information, but then stops. I tried downloading the newer version of this plugin, but it does the same thing. If I look at the error log, there are a bunch of entries like this:

The errors you pasted look like database locking type errors
resulting in an exception which is causing the EPG update
to undo all the program additions.

If you simply start MP and let it be for 30 minutes does the guide update then?

Are you running any other plugins that might be hitting the TVDatabase at the same time?

I am getting a crash and a WebException when the plugin tries to get guide data.

According to everything I have read, it should be working. The only oddball variable to all this, is that I am using HughesNet as my internet provider.

When I am in the Settings dialog I can pull my channels from Zap2It without a problem.

Anyone have any ideas?

Pastebin wasn't working well for me, so I just uploaded it to my domain.

I have tried letting it be for several hours, but every channel still says "No Data Available". I don't think any other plugins are using the TVDatabase. The plugin was working fine, then I turned off the computer for a few days since I went on vacation, then turned it back on and this was happening. I didn't install/uninstall anything before this started happening.

Like ClarkM, the channels show up in the Settings for the plugin without any problem.
