Hi,
Let me start with saying that MyTVSeries is awesome - it really is! I would be completely lost in my huge pile of documentaries without it and its thetvdb access. But there is one thing that seems to happen to me once in a while, and that is restructuring / renaming / reordering etc of series on the thetvdb side (NatGeo documentaries are notorious for this). So here is what happens: I import, say, NatGeo Magafactories 2011x55 with "TitleA". Everything is good. Then someone merges this series with, say, Ultimate Factories, and removes the first one. I still have the episode as originally imported, even though it is now an orphan.
Even worse, if I import NatGeo 2011x55 with "TitleA", and someone changes order / moves things around, so now 2011x55 is a different episode - say, "TitleB" and my episode is now #56, so MyTVSeries will update it the next time. Now I have an inconsistency - episode which is actually "TitleA" content, but listing says "TitleB" as I obviously didn't rename the episode and it's still #55 in the filename.
Hopefully I am still making sense
I don't know how much can be done without some support from thetvdb API, but I would like to have a tab in the configuration screen that would list DB changes comparing with the last import. This way, I can see if the change is affecting numbering and can go and rename / relocate files accordingly.
Is it feasible? Without some kind of support for this, local episode collection can get out of sync with thetvdb if (when) it changes...
