I am running a server / client arrangement. I was previously running single seat.

After ironing out most of the bugs and getting live TV streaming well I have hit yet another issue.

If I PAUSE live TV on my client machine and leave it for a couple of minutes then resume, MP will freeze and I have to CTRL+ALT+DEL to kill it. If I pause TV and then resume within a minute or so it continues as normal.

I don't have the logs at this stage but thought i'd see if there is a known issue.

Any clues hidden in there? It happens every time with live TV that is paused longer than a couple of minutes.

Not trying to be a PITA here, but please upload all logs, and update system specs. (Unless you still are using 1.0RC1 ).

Sorry, but these kind of things are needed if you want to get the attention of the "right people" (here; devs and testers)

Not being a pain at all. I understand that just as much work goes into creating debug systems as does the software itself. Just trying to do it without taking over the TV in the lounge and upsetting the missus.

I have updated my system profile with relevant server / client details and attached is the logs from my test.



EDIT: OK, straight away I have seen an issue in the logs
Looks like my TVServer is a different version from my client on that machine which is weird since I did the reinstall from the same 1.1 BETA version. I will try reinstall the server when recordings have stopped and re-test this (unless you see something else that is causing the freeze)

I actually have a similar issue, but not quite the same. I can get MP to respond to skip-stepping (no need for CTRL-ALT-DEL). In addition, skip stepping often fail to work as intended (displays wrong skip step according to keypress, and does not "go where told").

Even though these are somewhat similar, it doesn't have to be the same issue (we are on different MP version, as I am bald/stupid enough to use a SVN build on my productive system - so I know all about upsetting the misses ).

I live with that problem too skip stepping in multiseat randomly not working sometimes.

Looks like it may have been an issue between versions!!!

I have set both the client and server to the same version and managed to pause TV then resume without so much as a glitch for 2 minutes this morning before I left for work. Will test more when I get home but looks like that may have fixed this issue at least.

Looks to be "solved"

When I install the same 1.1 Beta version (release numbers match) it works a treat. I have an issue after testing a version compiled by "Disaster" that when I pause live tv then resume, it will stp after 1 second BUT hitting the skiip 15 sec button gets it playing again.

The previous issue was because of the different version numbers of the server and client, it just simply froze and required a reboot.

The only reason I am using the "Disaster" version is because it allows comskip to work in the Recorded TV section which is a MUST for my house
