Re: perfomance improvement by using MP as exclusive shell ap

go to the registry (via start-->run-->regedit and change the values of "Shell=" in:

Hkey_Local_Machine/Software/Microsoft/windows nt/winlogon/ and
Hkey_Current_User/Software/Microsoft/windows nt/winlogon/

Hkey_Current_User/Software/Microsoft/windows nt/winlogon/ has no "Shell=" command

it's possible that the second one is optional. it may depend on the presence of different user accounts. if there's just one user on your system, it may not be necc. to set a user-depending shell

Unfortunatly I still can't get it to work. Seems like it's not initializing DirectX or sumfin. :(

I think this sounds like a great idea... i'll have to try it...
But if you share disks on your HTPC, how do i connect to them from another computer in the LAN when using MP as shell?
The same way or does it require explorer as shell?

Remember that unchecking this option will more than likely cause tearing with video playback :)
