Hi All,

Is it realy working for you? All buttons? I miss LiveTV, GreenStart and some other buttons.
Isn' t it probelm that General HID is working as keyboard and there is not all buttons available? Info for example.

The same problem with Inteliremote.

That is weird. I worked with a guy who owned a SRM7500 and he sent me the codes for every single button and tested them out in Intelliremote. I will send him an email and find out...

I have all buttons working in my solution, too. All buttons generate events and I've assigned functions to them all.

Arturas1976 got it figured out. It wasn't that the buttons were not working, it is that they were not mapped to functions he wanted them to perform.

Can MediaPortal send information to the display on SRM7500? I need a solution where I dont need to turn on the television for playing music / listening to radio.

How did you map the TV Guide button to the Mediaportal event with eventGhost? I tried the Mediaportal Eventghost plugin and added an event using the Mediaportal Guide item of the plugin. But nothing happens when I press it in Mediaportal. The left, right, up, down, volume buttons are working though.

I use the SRM7500 remote also. I also tried the Intelliremote solution, but got the same problem, did not know what to map the Guide button to. I also tried the MyKeys plugin assiging a keyboard shortcut to the Guide function in Mediaportal. Could not get it to work.

Besides the TV Guide button, I also would like to use the other buttons that are typical MCE buttons (not working either).

I guess my question regarding Intelliremote is to what script, button, etc should I map the Guide button so that Mediaportal shows the TV Guide? Or in case of Eventghost, if mapping to the Mediaportal eventghost plugin -> Guide event, looks like Mediaportal does not receive this event (I ofcourse installed and enabled the MessagePlugin).

Anyone a suggestion?

UPDATE:

Here an update on my progress. I actually also installed eventghost. The XML that was posted in this Thread did not work for me, I had to map every button to a keyboard action. I loaded the Shortcuter plugin (keyboard shortcuts) in Mediaportal and I have mapped all the buttons to keyboard actions. It now works. I can even use the Sideshow feature and Music feature seperately (do not forget to mute the sound in Mediaportal, otherwise you would hear both sounds together).

It now works , but I keep getting problems after standby, I have to reconnect the remote all the time...

Seems like the newest driver of the Philipscan use side show functionallity. Question is if there is a way to access this functionallity under mp

Here's what I did to get this remote working with MediaPortal:
(NOTE: To save yourself some work you can do steps 1-5, import the attached XML file, and be done with the configuration.[/lQUOTE]

for any as thick as me - by "import" in step 5 - you mean"File>open" in EventGhost to import .xml file

Thanks for decribing this and doing the xml file - this out for me seems to be working very well

I have a couple of requests for someone that understands
1) - there are more buttons on the 7500 remote that are not mapped in general HID device in mediaportal eg "guide", "live TV" etc. If there anyway of fixing these as well

2) MPtraymod plugin make the green button open MP wuith MCE remote - anyway of making this work with this RF remote!!! PLEASE!

I've now got my SRM7500 working well with MP, all buttons - thanks to this thread. Thought I'd pass on my learning.

For me Aridyme's xml didn't work first off either. The basic cursors etc worked (part of the generic HID device I think) but not Guide etc which are mapped in the xml. The reason is that while the key identifier (last 4 digits) were correct, but my codes varied earlier in the number as below. Maybe a different rev of remote HW, firmware, or something (or maybe each remote is unique).

eg: Blue key
Aridyme: 1242029A998053029A9965660400004603
Mine: 124202B9AD803502B9AD46520400004603

So I just remapped all mine (per the attached xml file). Maybe this will work for someone else, or if not just manually remap your keys.

Maybe there's a smarter way to Split the button code to give only the last 4 digits? which would allow a generic xml file that would work for anyone?

For the record, note that in my xml the Green Button is Home; and Power starts MP (or restores).

Also, for any Kiwis reading... I got mine from Elive for $54 shipped which seems like a bargain for an RF PC remote and dongle + Universal learning IR remote + iTunes remote control (which works superbly - I no longer need the TV on to browse and play music).

I also have a working solution. I have created events in eventghost for both phillips and Hauppauge IR remote which then sends to MP (message plugin) where the action can be changed etc as needed via MessagePlugin interface

seems like a good idea anyone know how to do this? Would be useful to create a package that installs event ghost with appropiate setting from remote tab in MP config!!!

I have similar experiance with remote and WMP for simple music playing via remote screen but more coplex selction not ideal on small screen and then need the big screen!
