Freezes and the prize goes to...

:DOK, it's not a week, so not quite yet.

But suggesting a different CoDec worked (so far........:D)

I changed to the MPA & MPV codecs throughout and the freezes[seem] to have gone.

Trouble I have now is that it doesn't always come up in wide screen - but that MAY be the signal. Haven't checked.

Anyway, the clock is ticking and the verdict comes in a week.

No rollover - what do you think - I'm made of money (get very soggy in the rain if I was...).

    Ah stuffit....

Knew it was too good to be true.

After behaving itself for several days on the MPV/MPA codecs, it not only froze the video playback.

But froze several times on a single recorded program (Richard hammon Engineering so not exactly riveting television - perhpas it was trying to save me. They could have put this into 15 minutes instead of streatching it out to an hour!).

But it also froze on live TV too (twice).

I'm loathe to try ffdshow simply because it is something else in the mix. Although I would have thought the native NVidia drivers would be better.

As soon as I have a fix for this then I'll happily bung the money where the fixer wants it. Trouble is, I'm not sure it is as simple as it seems. Although something like VLC never freezes there must be so many more variables at work inside MP.

(Mind you, ask how well my Bluetooth code at work is working - BSOD in btkrnl.sys anyone...?)

You gotta love software - it sounds so simple and rapidly turns into a brain-snaffling beast that is purely desinged to give you grey hair!

If anyone has any suggestions, then please feel free. (Nice ones please - I hate being a 'difficult customer'.)

Thanks for the ongoing work and CONSIDERABLE effort you all put in - that's the reason I feel so guilty about posting things like this.
