0.6.1.12 XMAS -release is out! Key driver, new cool features top of new architectural change.

+ Quick Time HTTP –tunneling working, this helps stream to travel through firewalls, especially in corporate networks
+ VLC generated playlist for recorded clips and liveTV, link is in WEB UI PC-profile only! Long waited and wanted feature!
+ possibility stream own movies via VOD ST. using recording folder. With this feature you can create your own tv -channel to be broadcasted! Eg. for holiday videos etc. Most common file formats are streamed through. Video files copied to recording folder are renamed if there is eg. some Scandinavian characters, this is done because VLC does not like those characters. Converting to mp4 are done still only from .ts files.
+ Mainly related to previous bullet, now in advanced settings there is also option to start service without TV-card of course this means that no LiveTV but you are able to use your clips/movies, stream & download using xml feeds. Once using this option you need to remember specify folder where your clips are stored, since Mediaportal default folder cannot be used.
+ Added new profile in advanced settings for converting clips. Profile is named with ‘MP4’, using this profile you are able to modify settings how you want your recordings be converted for download. Bit rate, resolution, codec’s, etc can be adjusted.
+ Default PiipTV icons are created automatically, if there is not user created one’s available
+ BYE –packet is now sent after after clip streaming
+ some smaller bug fixes
+ Search for any recorded clips from phone Video Center! You need to click provisioning file again from WEB UI to get search activated to your phone. Some screen shots added to demonstrate this feature (N95 8GB screenshots in features)

First reports are telling that PiipTV is working with Nokia 5800 touch phone :) Some screenshots from device UI added.

Hi..
I really adore your piiptv, and would like to thank you for it :)
But it lack some things and it would be great if you could implement it :)
I am running one big wireless network in one city, and here we
have about 500 people connected. Earlier I had TV streaming over
wireless, but since our server upgrade the old way we did it is not
possible anymore and it was very problematic (we started DVBviewer and
then get stream with vlc and reencoded it). We used h264 with 600k
video and 64k audio, and it worked fine (our intel quad server could
reencode about 4 dvb-t programs)
But then I saw your plugin, and I thought this could solve our problem :)
So things that would make things perfect are:
-more than one simultanius stream (now I tried copying and renaming
PiipTvPlugin.dll but all I got is 2 plugins, but I couldnt manage
them)
-more than 378k per stream in options
-piiptv client for mediaportal (so that you could watch TV from other
servers - I know you can do that now, but not reencoded channels :)

I know it is lot to ask...but this is what I need :)

well...thank you very much for plugin :)

Hi

WoW what a X-Mas gift :D

One question : Is there a way to get EGPRS working ? Where i live we have EGPRS now and they told me it is faster then 3G. When i use this connection there it's a nogo because the server wants 3G or WIFI. Is there a way to get this done ?

Happy X-Mas to you all

dorijan,

Hi, that is in my todo list that you could watch using one TV-card different channels from one transpond/channel group. And once that is working it means also that using multiple tv-card you could watch even more channels between different users.

As a first aid to dorijan i e-mailed new plugin version where is higher bit rate limit :)

optx,
Have you tried if recorded streamable clips works over EGPRS?
I think that 3G limit in liveTV is set by Video center not piipTV server...

Hi manniainen

Sorry to tell you, but somehow my Piiptv is not working well anymore. No connection, only wifi @ Home (local IP). The buttons all bring up VNC: Timeshift,RTSP Local/External IP too. Did i do something wrong ? Should i reinstall it on my phone ? I tryed 3G, and Wifi @ my parents House. Only thing that happens is the Program guide is getting updated and then, nothing...... No stream, there is not even a channel here anymore.

optx,

Have you selected any external ip in use in piipTV plugin ui?
Can you watch TV with mediaportal?
can you see any channels in MP tv-server? if no try rescan channels...

If you cannot find solution activate full logging from piiptv plugin advanced settings and reproduce case and e-mail logs to me, i will check those..

Yes i have selected my External IP. Even the 'get' button gave me the right ip.
Sorry to tell you, but i have no mediaportal installed.
As i told, i can watch TV on my phone, but only my home wifi streams it. No 3G, no other wifi streams me movies. The only thing i see (when im not home) is that the program guide is updating and thats it. After that i get mesage that my phone can't connect to the server.Firewall is set up to let it through .....

How should i make a log file ? Turn on full logging and then ? Do you think that 3G and external Wifi have the same problem or should i test both and send you 2 log files ?

OPTX,
"Sorry to tell you, but i have no mediaportal installed."
You have to have MP installed since this in MP plugin :)

"As i told, i can watch TV on my phone, but only my home wifi streams it. No 3G, no other wifi streams me movies. The only thing i see (when im not home) is that the program guide is updating and thats it. After that i get mesage that my phone can't connect to the server.Firewall is set up to let it through ....."

This tells me that MP+ piipTV is working correctly. And you can access to piipTV internal WEB server, if EPG is updated, so atleast 5050 port is configured correctly to firewall. But can you ensure that 8554 (streaming port) is also configured similarly?

"How should i make a log file ? Turn on full logging and then ?Do you think that 3G and external Wifi have the same problem or should i test both and send you 2 log files ?"
Normal log file is produced automatically by mediaportal, but to get more detailed data to log file, open piipTV plugin view and select advanced settings and select (full log) option. Try to search tv.log file from yout pc. But actually in this case it does not help a much, since system is working correclty in your home.

Yes 3G and external wifi has same problem, 8554 streaming port cannot be accessed (that is default port in piipTV you can configure something else to that if needed)! I strongly suspect firewall configuration. 5050 http port seems to be configured correctly if you can get epg updated via 3g or external wifi. :)

Hi manniainen
:D
For that 8554 streaming port hint. I was looking in the Firewall and the whole program was marked allowed.
Dont konw why but i made it manual for that port and now it streams well again with Wifi and 3G.

:D .....
again :)
