Pinnacle HDTV PCI card (1 Viewer)

Hello.
Has anyone had any success using Pinnacle HDTV PCI card. So far, all posts I could find were about Pinnacle USB HDTV sticks, not PCI.
I just downloaded the latest MediaPortal and TV-Server. When I try to scan for Analog channels, I get nothing. I also tried ATSC and QAM and still nothing.
It really looks like the card just isn't supported, but I want to make sure. If you need to see the logs, tell me exactly what to do in TV-Server and/or MediaPortal and I'll post the logs here.

I have the PCTV HD PCI card. The analog portion does not work in MediaPortal. I believe it will not work easily until there is better support for S/W tuner cards. I was in the same boat also where the scanning did not return anything. But I have another tuner, a Hauppauge HVR-1800, and that did work with scanning so I mapped those channels to the Pinnacle card and am able to use it for QAM viewing.

I have the Pinnacle HDTV PCI card (800i). MediaPortal is able to detect and view the analog channels, but when I scan the QAM channels it doesn't find any. I have tried most of the choices in the QAM type pulldown list. Scanning usually leaves the card locked for some reason so scanning is a bit of a pain.

The software that comes with the card finds several QAM channels.

Sadly, the other PVR sotware I tried, gbpvr, was able to pick up the QAM channels, but couldn't use the analog channels because the card lacks hardware MPEG-2 compression or something along those lines.

I have poked around in the forums here, but I haven't seen anything that fixed it. This was about the best I found:

you should be able to get the QAM channel information from GB-PVR and manually add the channels and then map them to the PCTV card.

Can you watch analog or only scan? I can't watch analog or scan. I tried following the information on the wiki for setting up a software card but the tv server just froze when I tried to watch an analog channel.

I can scan for and view analog channels. I have had the program hang a couple times on startup or exit - usually leaving the card in a state that requires a reboot to clear up.

I didn't have to do anything special to set the card up for analog channels. It just worked. I do have the newer (late June) Pinnacle drivers. The ones that came with the card were pretty flaky.

I'll try copying the QAM channel settings from the other software. It'd be nice to get that working. Thanks.

That's strange. I'm using the latest pinnacle drivers and latest mediaportal. I could not see any analog channels, and QAM channels that MediaPortal did find, I could not see - the screen stayed black with no sound. Is anyone else having same problems I am?

No analog here. Foaming do you have another card installed? Or did you previously?

No, this is the only TV tuner card I've had on this machine.
