Playing HD video results in blank screen - sometimes (1 Viewer)

Recently updated to 1.0.2 from a stable 1.0.0. Looked great - stable and sharp. However I have noticed a couple of prblems - the oddes is problems with HD trailers.....

If I play an HD video immediatoly after loading everything is fine (more or less). If I then try and play an flv video which failes (another new problem) and then play the HD again I get a blank screen. MP still responds to the remote BUT leaves the screen perfectly blank.
I think its somwthing to do with the haali splitter & ffdshow - they appear to get left behind when a video is stopped (as I type this I have 3 sets of FFDshow audio & haali icons on the task bar ---- OK they have gone now)

I reverted to an earlier image of the system (I image my system regularly) and then rolled forward carefully. Got back, (I think) to where the system was and it all works. So basically fixed but I dont know what went wrong.
