    Hello!

I am using the Core.dll provided in this thread on one HTPC with RC1 installed. I think that it is a big step forward. I do not have problem zapping betweeen HD and SD channels any more. On another computer I am running SVN 25171 without this dll. That SVN is not as stable as RC1 with the patch dlll. I have understood that some improvements have been commited but my question is if all improvements in this Core.dll is commited yet or not?
The ATI flickering patch is removed in SVN but not in Core.dll?

    /Erik

This "other" .dll seem to be more stable in channel change and the things leading up to a new video playback. What it isn't doing for me though is more artifacts (have to jump back and forward on the timeshift to get rid of it) and the occasional total freezes.

Re: AW: Playing problems in RC1: TV, radio, AVI, DXVA

Have tried the new core.dll (second version) over the last few days and it is much more stable then the RC1 dll. With the RC1 dll I was not able to use Cyberlink codecs at all (I use the Cyberlink both for SD and HD content with hardware accel, ATI video card). On the RC1 dll I had to use DivX or Core dll for HD content, and MPC for SD content. All other combinations gave no content or freeze. Sometimes when changing from SD to HD and back it all went bad and TV on/off only option.

This DLL seems to be very stable for me at least and back to my codecs of choice! :D Thanks!

which catalyst version and gpu are you using?

    Hello :)

I am on WinXP, catalyst 9,8, GPU is ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro.

    Cheers!

I still get framedrops and choppy TV with EVR but VMR9 is fine

It's easy to see the frame unstability in EVR if you use Fraps. With VMR9 I have a stable 50 fps but with EVR it constantly varies between 30-50 fps

AW: Playing problems in RC1: TV, radio, AVI, DXVA

    win7 x64 / ati hd5450 / catalyst 10.2 / RC1 / new core.dll

ms codec works quite well with dxva (sometimes a bit tearing)

powerdvd9 (saf unlocked) codes work, but without dxva.
HDTV 720p is still watchable (cpu about 90-100%) / 1080i there is a lot of shuttering - unwatchable cpu contantely 100%

    any advices?

    regards
    irm

I did a few testings. the powerdvd codec works flawlessly in dvb-viewer, as well as with HA. In MediaPortal I get a black (blank) screen in fullscreen (Audio works). the previous windows works...strange.

p.s. i get a picture with vmr but without HA.

About the black screens you are getting. I bet all (or at least most of) the GPUs that are causing it to happen are ATI 5xxx series based ones. This is caused by the fact that ATI flickering hack (which is removed in SVN and is not part of the core.dll in this thread) seems to solve the same issue.

No clue if it is MP or ATI driver bug.

Yes, you are right. Here it is an HD5450.
