Uninstall everything to do with the card. If that doesnt remove the card, then go into device manager and remove all the card entries. Reboot. Your PC will ask for drivers to install the tv card, and point it to that directory.

WHQL means its microsoft certified to work with Windows.

if youve got time on your hands to program remote manually use GIRDER, if you have not then treat yourself to MCE remote as best thing since sliced bread or non fattening lager.

i found the program, but in the description it quotes.
"A warning: you can seriously mess up your system (at least the part involving your remote) by just executing what is stated below without understanding what you're doing."

lol is it safe to use or not, mayb i sohuld just buy an MCE remote for like 15bucks.
I fear you didn't find Girder. You can find it here for the *ahum* humble cost of USD50.
What you found is a plugin to Girder I wrote, but it will not be usefull to you.
When comparing 50 and 15 bucks and knowing that the MCE remote is natively supported in MP, I'd advise you to just get an MCE remote.

Some free solutions to use almost every remote existing exist, but not even near the level of userfriendliness of MediaPortal.

Yes, if you want to spend the money that's probably better than the solution below.

No, it will work with mediaportal OK. WhatI was saying is that this program I'm thinking about (WinLirc will not have shiny wizards and stuff, so it's hard to install (you can of cause try it though). And, since your remote reciever is connected to your TV card and not via USB or serial port, I think even WinLirc will not help.

So, bottom line, the Leadtek remote will probably only work with the supplied Leadtek TV program, better to get an MCE. (watch out, various versions, the one in the pic is considered best, watch out for the four colored buttons at the bottom)
