Sweet! If it is difficult to emulate a Spotify client, what about making a plugin controlling the official software?

Also, I have a feeling that if you ask the Spotify team for help, they might be able to provide it. At least worth a try :)

Any chance anyone has an invite for this? I'd like to give it a shot and would be glad to help out developing a plugin for it if it's as great as everyone seems to say it is.

I got ~10 invites left, so pm me your email adress and I will invite the first guys for the cause. :)

If you are not living in one of the current coutries spotify runs in, just get a UK https proxy and a UK zip code for the sign up. The spotify client will run without proxy from every country. Just change the country to yours after signing up in your web-profile.

This plugin sounds great. Since this whole licensing thing from Spotify, any chance to make a plugin for Pandora? Thank you.

Yeah, i actually think that could be possible as well. Spotify uses a lot of open source components, and a MP plugin means more pr and money for them, so why not? Another reason to get Spotify... :D

According to Spotify's EULA, it isn't legal to create any software to connect to the Spotify service without the explicit OK from the company.
The question about plug ins for several HTPC systems have been asked on numerous occasions, but the Spotify ppl haven't reacted on those requests yet.

Take a look on this post on Spotify's forum @ : Windows Media Center
Add more request to get their attention.
