I am experiencing problems due to files being in use.
Hey m3rcury, can you say something about this issue?

Requiem, on my setup, I don't have the 2 extensions you mentioned installed. When you say files are locked, are the locked files the ones on the client HTPC where the master database is located? Can you maybe try and use the plugin to create a replica of the master database on the server and make TVService and MPExtended use this replica instead of the one on the master?

In principle, the master database is only change by the plugin the first time as it need to create a temporary table and to update some tables, if you are synchronizing the watched/resume status, otherwise, it is only accessed as read-only.

Do you have any logs with the problem/error?

No, the files are locked on the tv server (=server for external access to MP via MPExtended/WebMediaPortal). MPSync is installed on the HTPC and pushes the files to the tv server. The WMP/MPExtended plugins are the only reason why I need these databases and thumbs on that machine...

Just out of interest: what's a normal time for synchronizing databases?
My pc is busy for 40 minutes now, thumbs are already synchronized...
At least the pc seems to work and not to hang...
My database folder has a size of 25mb.

RicoHTPC, the first time takes a bit long. If you are running the synchronization manually, I suggest you stop it by clicking the "X" to close and give it another shot, just in case it hanged. If that is the case, please advise, so I investigate if there is a thread that is not sending a termination notification.

In the end it worked out, so everything allright.
But I've got a problem with my client not using the new database.
I've incorporated some new albums into my music db on my master htpc, synchronized this db
with the client one but the new albums don't appear in the clients music section...

RicoHTPC, if you have any logs with debug of the session (mainly mpsync.log), please attach, or else switch debug on generate a new one by adding a new album and try the synch again, if possible.

Here you are, did a new import without changing the master db beforehand.
According to the creation date of the music db it should be the current file but my client does not display the new albums.
Do I have to change something inside the music setup before using mpsync?
"Auto update db when shares change" shouldn't be checked, right?
