No worries - felt I had to ask tough... :)

Thank you, I will try it altough it looks like the solution is both, as you say, messy and a little bit over my head... :)
For example, I'm not sure how to edit the .xml to pass the channel name/number as a parameter.

Read the online wiki. It's pretty straightforward. You define your channels in service-channels.xml I believe.

I have now tried VODServer but come to the conclusion (might be wrong) that it can not be used to run executables when switching channles using Analog tuners in TV-server (which is what I'm using (Hauppauge Colossus)). I think the functionality of VODServer is limited to the DVB-IP tuner of the MediaPortal TV-Server.

  • About The Project

The vision of the MediaPortal project is to create a free open source media centre application, which supports all advanced media centre functions, and is accessible to all Windows users.

In reaching this goal we are working every day to make sure our software is one of the best.

  • Support MediaPortal!

The team works very hard to make sure the community is running the best HTPC-software. We give away MediaPortal for free but hosting and software is not for us.
