If MediaPortal used XBMC's XML scrapers for HTTP scraping instead then users would not have this problems as XBMC's scraper can be configured to from one XBMC scraper scrape multiple websites for coverart.

In fact, XBMC's while the current imdb.xml scraper grabs the metadata information from imdb.com it grabs the covers from impawards.com and movieposterdb.com (which both has high-quality movie posters) as well as from IMDb.

I'm seeing the same problem. If I query IMDB from within Mediaportal, it actually displays a nice, high-res thumbnail in the imdb page. As soon as I back out to apply that thumbnail and go back to filmstrip view, I get a 94x120 thumbnail which looks horrible, even on my 10-year-old CRT TV. This "glitch" only applies to the movie directory. For whatever reason, the movie inside the folder gets the correct thumb. Thumbnail quality is set to the highest and this appears to be skin independant as i tried it with BlueTwo and some 3rd party skins. How can I force Mediaportal to always use this "large" image without having to bust out the keyboard and rename/duplicate files every time I copy over a new movie?

EDIT: Found that if I enabled "every movie has it's own folder" in Mediaportal's configuration, it assigns HQ thumbs to the folder. Guess I'll just make a folder for each movie instead of leaving them loose.
