most likely problem here is that you have forced your soundcard to output 44.1khz or 48khz

when the incoming audio doesnt fit the "forced" category, it gets sped up or slowed down

i had this problem with some videos, setting my soundcard output to "auto" isntead of 44 or 48khz fixed it

and as a bonus info

forcing spdif usage forces the samplerate to 48khz, thats why it propably fixes the issue

surround sounds like ac3, dd, dts are 48khz

mp3 etc are 44.1khz usually

ohh, how do i 'unforce it' ?

I don't have SPDIF pass through on this mobo.

Taipan, I don't have audio issues on DVB-T. Well i do, but only using this codec, all other codecs work fine. I have tonnes of channels on DVB-S and they all work fine except for about ~8 of them all on the same transponder.

I do have the latest audio drivers and mobo bios etc. installed.

I think perhaps deebo is right, now i just gotta work out how to 'unforce it' into using autiomatic.

Cheers

woohoo fixed :)

I went into CP and changed one of the codecs (it was at 4tht or 5th preference), to automatic, and then also changed my audio codec to ffdshow codec, and all is good now :)

Should i use the ffdshow video codec (if there is such a thing), to reduce CPU usage?

My channel changes are still a tad slow :(

You need to use a video decoder that uses DxVA to lower the CPU usage - ones like InterVideo, CyberLink and Nvidia are the best (IMHO).

What do you mean by "a tad slow"? Typically how many seconds are you experiencing?

hmm well i can't use intervideo, cyberlink didnt work... will try nvidia.

Hmm the channel changes in seconds i'm not entirely sure, but it does change depending on the channel i'm trying to change to.

Usually ~3-4 seconds. Sometimes this jumps to about 7 seconds on some channels.

I have ts off, and zap delay is on 1 second (i find it easier to 'surf' through channels with it on 1, as opposed to zero where it lags more)

I would iniitally suspect a weak signal, but once im into the channel the signal is almost perfect, very rare to have any breaks or anything like that.
