Power outage, tv not work, but no error message (1 Viewer)

Ever since the power went out this morning, i can't view tv.

The tv server appears to be starting, i'm getting full tv guide/EPG details, but when I select a channel it goes to a black/blank screen and nothing happens - no error messages or system freezes, and no sound or vision.

When I revert back to my MP home screen or the TV guide, it does it immediately - so it doesn't appear to be freezing up when it sits there with a blank screen.

I've checked for a corrupted TV database, which happened once before after a power outage (though symptoms were different then as I couldn't get EPG details), but that doesn't appear to be the case.

I've also re-scanned for channels, and it did that successfully as well.

Please find logs attached. Speaking of logs, there were about five tvservice error log files in the log folder, however all but one of them contained no data at all. And they were zero kb. The attached was the only file to contain any data.

Please let me know if there's any other info you need. Hope this is enough.

    Hello Strattos

Okay. I suspect a configuration file was corrupted or something like that.

Yep, that is a good thing to check. (y)

Thanks for the log files. Unfortunately these log files are not enough to show the problem.
Please can you use the MediaPortal watchdog/debug tool as instructed here:
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/1_MEDIAPORTAL_1/16_Support/3_Forums/2_Log_Files

You can follow the instructions for reproducible problems. When you get to the part about reproducing the problem, start TV, wait for 20 seconds or so, then close MP and post the zip file.

    Thanks,

    Hello again Strattos

First thanks for the logs - they're perfect. (y)
The problem does not appear to be a corrupted config file. In fact, MediaPortal is detecting your TV streams as radio instead of TV. I suspect this is related to the continuity errors in your TsWriter log which indicate the TV Server is not happy.

The most common causes of continuity errors are signal strength/quality issues and hard drive stress. Assuming your signal quality is okay...
How full is your timeshift drive (D:\Recordings\)?
Do you have any real-time anti-virus/spyware/malware software installed? For example, Microsoft Security Essentials.
If you start task manager, go to the performance tab, and enter the resource monitor... what does it tell you about your HDD utilisation when you try to start watching TV?

Thanks for having a look at my log file.

I've checked the hard drive I store my recordings on and it had about 157gig free, which I'm assuming is enough? It is getting full though.

Just to check though, I deleted a few largish recordings and then tried to turn on tv, and it's now working!

Not sure if it was the space issue, or whether there were reception issues locally. Happy its working again, but part of me still wants to know why it wasn't.

    Thanks for your help anyway.

Yell out if you want me to put up another log file now that's working - if it will help others or the info database.

Great (!!!)... but, strange. I'd also like to have known what was going on, but I'm happier that it is working. :)

    Thanks for your help anyway.
You're most welcome. Any time. :)

I think we're good, but thanks for the offer. :)
