PowerScheduler will not put the PC to sleep if there is user activity WITHIN MEDIAPORTAL .... but PowerScheduler doesn't know about anything that you're doing outside of MediaPortal itself (eg. moving mouse or using keyboard).

This was absolutely not the case under Windows XP - on my single-seat setup I have always had power scheduler to hibernate the computer after 25 minutes of inactivity. Any activity, including outside of the client, prevented hibernation. Moving to Windows 7, recently, I've been startled several times when the machine suddenly went into hibernation.

I suspect that Windows 7 reports activity differently to XP so that the power scheduler plugin is getting confused. It's a pain in the proverbials, and the fact a kludge like running a process you don't need so as to prevent shutdown is needed points to a bug rather than a feature by design!

    Cheers,

    R.

I can confirm that! but i switched to windows 7 with 1.1 final so probably the change is due to that?!

another big problem in that case is that i am using mp in a multi-seat environment and with winxp/mp 1.0.2 my mp server maschine kept running when an mp client pc was only started (no client activity). now with win7/mp 1.1 the server goes into standby when there is no tvservice activity by the mp client!

for example watching onlinevideos made my tv server going into standby. then i get error messages "connection to tvservice lost" even i don't do anything tv related.
if this is by design the design is not very well, isnt it?

    cheers
