    Hi,

When I watch a HD video or HD TV with PowerDVD codec, the frame rate is reduced from 50 fps, to 25 or even 24 fps.. Someone here told me to set PDVD11 codec to use DXVA to solve that, but when I do that, it is allways set back to use SW I have PowerDVD10 Ultra completely installed, but also there it is set back to SW after I set it to DXVA in the settings/properties page.

What might be going wrong here? The microsoft decoder does apearently use DXVA (How can I check that, to be sure?)

(I will add a log tonight, however I do not think something can be seen in the MP log, as it is something outside MP I like to adjust)

Below my system corrected (so do not look at the LH side :) )

    Thanks in advance

    Setup VIDEO Decoder with PDVD.
You should use ffdshow audio or video as post process filter to have access to codec setting right clic on FFDShow icon and here you can set DXVA for PDVD11.
    Thanks.

You can use also the attached .reg file (Part of SAF) to enable DXVA. (Unzip and double click on it)

I did access the PDVD11 settings panel via the Radlight filter manager (button 'properties page'), I guess that is the same as via ffdshow.

No it's not the same, i mean yes point of view but you need to start it when MP is running because PDVD set setting for each software.
So you need to do this when MP DirectShowGraph is running :)

Ha! this works! Steady 50fps on all HD TV channels now.. stored video not, but that can also be the source of the video

    Thanks!

Will test a little more which is best for TV, the Microsoft decoder or PDVD11.

It seems that PDVD11 is the best (at least for my system) for HDTV. Microsoft decoder made some stuttering till changed to PDVD11. I was wondering that this could be because of a not powerful enough Intel GMA x4500HD but it is really not true :)

I watched HD TV yesterday just a littlebit, but I cannot see much difference between the microsoft codec or PDVD11 codec... checked also with Shift-1, but the diagrams look similar.
