Just start the powerapp.exe and let it run at all time?
And when I want the system to go to standby it will let me do that as well - meaning when there is no recording active or when watching TV for instance?
MoPhat: That is great news that you are working together with Bavarian on this issue.
I have tested your test app and it works kind of:
- I stopped TVServer and started your app
- I then pushed the power button on the case
- The PC remained on but the video signal or the graphics card resp. was switched off
--> So I couldn't use the PC anymore by myself
- I pressed the power button again and the display came back on
I think you should also use the parameter that tells Windows that you need the display, right?
Bavarian wrote me that he will check when his back from little hollydays...
the closed and rc2 marks are done before we found this informations how to prevent standby under vista, its not so simple o do that because we must do some code changes in MP.
One great miss behaviour of Vista is hat no standby messages are anymore broadcastet
Its not the same like in XP to avoid standby during a recording... its another way that the pc is not going direct in to standby while is recording a show.
We must now wait that Bavarian can check this und give feedback.
Meanwhile i write a plugin for MP that if a recording is on and the powerbutton (standby) is clicked, the displays goes off (! like a STB) and after the recording has finished the pc go into the standby/hibernate mode.
If anyone presses the power button or any other key during the recording the display goes on and MP stays on.
The plugin name is: Standby.Watcher und will released soon.
