PowerScheduler++ : Not unmuting after return from away-mode (1 Viewer)

Hello,

I'm running Mediaportal in a singleseat configuration and everything regarding suspend/resume works, but the away mode seems to be buggy. When the TV server is recording and I press the power switch, Windows 7 goes to away mode - as expected. Display is blanked and audio is muted. When I press the power switch once again Windows returns from away-mode, the display is on again, but audio is still muted. If I restart the Mediaportal client audio gets unmuted. I would expect that the PowerScheduler++ plugin handles returning from away mode, but it doesn't. Am I doing something wrong?

Thank you in advance.

Greetings,

Hello,

do you need some more information about my system, log files etc ? I thought the problem is easy to reproduce, but if you need more information, please let me know.

Greetings,

You also be a (HDMI?) audio driver problem?

Audio unmuting is a PS++ client plugin feature, i.e. it can only work if the MP client (and thus the PS++ client plugin) is running. If it is not running at the moment the system is leaving away mode, nothing happens and the audio master volume keeps muted (as designed by Microsoft ;)).

Hello and thank you for your responses.

The Mediaportal client is running, of course, when the system resumes from away mode, so I would expect that PS++ would unmute audio. I don't think this is an audio driver problem, because Windows reflects the mute state in the systray. I can deactivate the mute state by pressing the mute button on my keyboard or by using the standard windows mixer control panel.

Therefore I assumed you stopped the MP client and restarted it only after resume from away mode. I do not know what system and what MP version you are using, but there is a bug in PS++ 1.2.3.3 in combination with MP 1.3 alpha and audio master volume selected. If this is the case for you, you should try the bugfix version 1.2.3.4 RC which can be found here. Otherwise you should provide full logs.

I am using Mediaportal 1.2.3.0 and PS++ 1.2.3.3. As soon as I get home, I'll get for the logs :)
What information about my system do you need in addition to the logs?

Hmmm, I'm using the MyVolume-Plugin as well... could that cause some kind of interaction? I'll try that later, too...

Ok, here are the logs. Looking into the error.log I think I know what Holzi meant...

The graphics hardware seems to be disabled as long as the system is in away mode. Since I use HDMI to connect my TV to the mediacenter, audio data travels the same way as video data. I suppose Mediaportal gets a notification that the system resumes from away mode BEFORE the hardware is fully operational again. This seems the cause that Mediaportal cannot unmute audio, because the audio device is not available at that time. A short delay between the "resume from away mode" notification and the attempt to unmute might work. What do you think?

    Thank you in advance!

Could you try the new 1.2.3.4 RC version of PS++ and see, if it works ok? If not, please select debug log level and send me new logs.
