AW: Re: AW: PowerScheduler++ Test Version 1.2.5.11 for MP 1.2.x / 1.3 Alpha

I just wanted to point out that if you only update the first post, rather than post a new message, the forum doesn't seem to alert me (or anyone else I presume) that the thread has been updated, so I only became aware you'd posted the latest version when I got alerted to your last post.
Thank you for this hint. I will post a short message on new versions in the future.
The remote is part of the TV card which is working fine after resume now (you appear to have fixed PS++ so it properly restarts TVServer with the "Reinitialise" option as this wasn't working before, so thanks!).
That was with the version 1.2.5.9.

    Well, i support Wbunaarf because i use the option "Allow standby only when client is on home screen" in the same manner.

    Unfortunately the "Reinitialise tvcontroller on wakeup" function doesn't seem to be working as well as I thought, as I just resumed from standby and got the old "no free card" error and had to manually stop and restart TVservice to fix it.

    I can confirm the same behavior, after resume tv service doesn't re-initialize the service.
    With 1.2.1 stable release all work fine, after no.

    When the plugin says it will prevent sleep during EPG grabbing, is this only for DVBEPG? I use WebEPG and its going to sleep halfway through my manual grabs?

    Thanks.

    Re: PowerScheduler++ Test Version 1.2.5.12 for MP 1.2.x / 1.3 Alpha

    Might be more a general MP bug rather than PS++, but when I went out earlier I locked my PC and when I came back and resumed it from standby and logged in, I got an error

    Code:
    D3D: Exception: This sample cannot run in a desktop
    window with the current display settings.
    Please change your desktop settings to a
    16- or 32-bit display mode and re-run this
    sample. MediaPortal    at MediaPortal.D3DApp.ChooseInitialSettings()
       at MediaPortal.D3DApp.CreateGraphicsSample()

    I'm guessing that MP tried to restart whilst Windows was on the Login screen, so perhaps there's a way for PS++ to delay restarting MP until after the user has logged on.

    Re: PowerScheduler++ Test Version 1.2.5.12 for MP 1.2.x / 1.3 Alpha

    I have a question regarding the standby prevented by bandwidth. Does incomming network traffic count? On what interfaces traffic is being meassured?
    In my test I was uploading some episodes to a network share (yes I tried the network share tab, but I dont like it :) ) and MP is shutting down to standby.

    Version was: 1.2.5.12

    I'l try to catch some logs .. but could you have a look at the code if all traffic counts? (all interfaces .. incomming and outgoing?)

    Unfortunately the "Reinitialise tvcontroller on wakeup" function doesn't seem to be working as well as I thought, as I just resumed from standby and got the old "no free card" error and had to manually stop and restart TVservice to fix it.
    The controller is reinitialised on wakeup, but could not (re-)load your DVB-T cards ("Controller: card not found :Nova-DT DVB-T Tuner (Dev1 Path0) "). So I assume that your hardware is not able to "survive" a S3 supend / wakeup. You should try to use hibernate (S4) instead of S3 for standby (check "PS++ forces standby..." and set Standby mode to "Hibernate").

    I can confirm the same behavior, after resume tv service doesn't re-initialize the service.
    With 1.2.1 stable release all work fine, after no.
    PS++ does not re-initialize the TV-Service, it only reinits the TV controller software (as do the original PS and all PS++ versions - never changed the code). If you experience another behaviour, I would be interested in logs.

    When the plugin says it will prevent sleep during EPG grabbing, is this only for DVBEPG? I use WebEPG and its going to sleep halfway through my manual grabs?
    It should work for all EPG grabber plugins. Please send me logs, if it does not work for WebEPG.

    Might be more a general MP bug rather than PS++ ...
    I think so too...

    Network traffic is counted on all interfaces and directions. It would be helpful to have logs covering the upload period to see what goes wrong.

    I was uploading episodes to a network share so the network share was active and the bandwidth was higher than 20 kb/s. The HTPC is still going in standby mode after 5 minutes. Standby should have been prevented by two rules .. :(
