    Hi,

as I have squeezeboxes in my house I hear music through them instead of using mp for it. On my mp client I run Squeezeplay to hear music and control it via iPad or iPhone.

Now my problem is how do i prevent mp from shutting down while hearing music.

    Hi,

I am not sure if you are using PowerScheduler Plugin. If you use it, you should be able to enter the process name:
    "Processes which can prevent standby"
    or
"Prevent standby based on network activity"

    See:
    Power Scheduler - MediaPortal Wiki

But isn't this only available on the serverside? My machine is a client.

This one stumped me, but the solution is obvious (once someone has told you :D).

If you have a separate client/server setup, and it is the client which is going into standby then the best solution is not NOT use powerscheduler on the client (however do use it on the server as normal).

Basically just use the basic windows power management to power down the client based upon system activity. That way the system will not power down if any media application is playing media.

You will still need to enable and configure the powerscheduler on the client (so that the client "tells" to server that it is active), but just take the tick out of the option that allows powerscheduler to put the system into standby.

My advice would be to try without MCE Standby Tool first if you can. Although an excellent tool, it is always better to configure it manually if you can as it is more traceable if you want to revert to previous settings. MCE Standby Tool will make lots of changes at the same time.

I am fairly sure the client powerscheduler option "only allow standby from Homescreen" still works even if powerscheduler isn't permitted to put the PC into standby, which might remain a useful option for many users.

Sorry, I have been away from the internet for a couple of days so I couldn't reply.

I presume you have set the windows standby settings correctly?

It might be worth trying standbyhandler then as Walzing suggested. It will allow you to see what application is stopping the hibernation and apply workarounds.
