My recommendation: use PowerScheduler++ which should be able to do all you need. Let Windows manage power transitions & powerscheduler++ will keep mp alive if needed.

No it doesn't. it also doesn't support network monitor on client side only on the server side - if you have dedicated server architecture. But will try what robbo100 is suggesting 1st.
R you sure? Well, I don't have the client / server setup at the moment, so I can't check. The decription in the PS++ thread states that it can do network monitoring - I am not sure if only server based.

had the time to test. It's MP itself which prevents the standby. The system shuts down when no software is running but it doesn't when MP is running.
In Win7 there are is a pretty long list of different conditions which can be set to allow (or deny) power saving. It might be worth going through your config line by line to see if there is anything which MP might use which is denying standby.
