Problem with back to back recordings on same channel (1 Viewer)

Hi,

Having set Media Portal to record 2 half hour programmes which were shown back to back last night on the same channel, the first one was recorded without any problems, but the first few minutes of the second programme were missed.

Any idea why this might be?

Media Portal is set to start recording 5 minutes before the start and finish 5 minutes after, but is it not clever enough to disregard that in the above situation?

Furthermore, since I have a dual tuner card, I thought the above problem could not occur, but it looks like there might be a problem with one of the tuners on the card (Nova-T-500).

I will check to see if the first few minutes are at the end of the first programme, but even so, I doubt the changeover would be exact in terms of timing - meaning that I will probably not be able to edit the files to correct the problem.

Any advice?

Mapping

Did you map the channels to the second tuner?

I did a channel scan using the second tuner, but I don't know what you mean by mapping the channels.

That's enough to add the mappings correctly, and a lot easier than manually adding

Also, just testing new MP version and the T500 defaults for TVServer\powerscheduler have changed, reinitiliase tuner now has to be selected, and keep the delay detecting tuners of 20-25 seconds under general tab, otherwise after standby only 1 tuner may be working.

Cannot guarantee above will work with RC4

Where do you select to re-initialise the tuner/s?

Is in in TV Server > General Settings > Application tab > 'Delay for TVcard detection'?

Powerscheduler plugin\advanced reinit tuner\service settins, this does not work correctly with putting to sleep with remote, you need to either use NP's GUI power buttons in Home screen (not shown in basichome), or if set in powerscheduler client plugin, just leave in homescreen for the set time with nothing playing, or close MP and let the TVServer Powerscheduler shut you pc down.

Resuming by remote does not cause a problem.

Paranoid Delusion, are you saying under RC4 that we now need to Re-initialise The Tuner in the General Settings?? Could this be the answer to mu issue? Will try it tonight.
