    Hi,
there is problem with detection if channel is encrypted or not. Problem was reported firstly in this post. I have attached logs from TV service and also dump TS file from IPTV filter.

When I analysed stream I found that no packet has encryption flag, but in PMT is CA section. In stream aren't CATs. I think that channel should be marked as non FTA only in case that some packets have encryption flag, in PMT is CA section and in stream are CATs.

if that's only a matter of 2 channels, set them FTA manually in tv server configuation.

it's probably the broadcaster transmitting the wrong flag for the channel

Problem is not in scanning but in playing. When channel is marked as FTA (manually) then TV server find CA section in stream and consider channel as non FTA - and without CAM is this channel not playable.

    Hi georgius

Obviously this has been an issue for some time. TV Server does not check for encryption at the stream level - we expect the provider to adhere to the DVB/MPEG standards and mark the service with the correct FreeCaMode and/or CA descriptor in the PMT. My understanding at least is that they are non-compliant if they don't do that. I'll try to take a look at the stream and see what can be done...

Many of the channels on Astra 1N are flagged as encrypted but are not, for example 5 USA on 10964H (SID 7710).

I dont have to mark them as FTA to get them to work.

You're probably right, I had other tuning issues when I first tried those channels before marking then as FTA.
