ATI 5750 is another option. It's selling point is the ability to bitstream Blu-Ray audio formats via HDMI. Though not implemented yet by any software players.

Good to know, but at the risk of starting a flame war, I'm more of a NVidia-guy... had bad luck with ATI over the years... Still trying to figure out if GT220 or 9500GT will suffice... sounds like it is fine, but I think I'm leaning on going with a bigger card (GT250) and just be done with it.
GT220 has a newer version of video prosessing unit (VPU4). That will allow even DXVA divx/xvid content (after driver support is ready).

So, you guys would suggest the GT220 over the GT250? I figured the faster memory access and faster clock on the GT250 would make it better, but if the GT220 is more designed for HTPC (and by the sounds of it, it is), then I'll go that route.

Basically - yes (or the GT240 if you feel the need for something in reserve - this is roughly equal to a 9600GT in 3D performance). The G210/GT220/GT240 are all members of the new 40nm nVidia GPU family.

Finally!!! The new GT220 is great... all screens display faster, and most importantly, h264 is perfect with no dropped frames... only issue is the fan noise... i'll look into that later ... one problem at a time
