Hi there

I am running 0.2.3.0 and the latest MP-TVSeries Plugin. I have episodes stored across 3 drives in specific folders and since updating to the latest version of MP-TVSeries, I am having to manually add episodes.

When I add a new episode to a folder that already contains episodes that are in the database, it seems to be fine. My issue comes when I add a new folder.

For example, I have 12 episodes of Moonlight on Drive 3, except that drive 3 is now full. So I created a Moonlight folder on drive 4 and followed the exact same naming conventions. When I go into the plugin, it tells me that it cannot find a match and do I want to skip or manually choose another name. It doesn't matter how many times I press to specify a new name, my only option is to skip.

This had never happened before I downloaded the latest version 3 days ago. When I went back to the previous version, the plugin does not launch within MP and leaves me on a blank screen.

I would be greatful if someone could help me sort the new version, or tell me how to downgrade successfully...

Cheers

A little more information.

I cleared some space and added the episode into the folder with the other 12. Launched MP and the plugin detected the episode as I would normally expect.

I just noticed something. On drive 3 the structure was "Moonlight\Season1\Episode" on drive 4 I had created "Moonlight Season 1\Episode". This is what I have done in the past, so I didn't really notice it.

I just changed the structure on drive 4 to match that on drive 3 and it now imported the episode as expected.

It seems that v2 has lost the ability to deal with shows that are split up across multiple locations properly. In the old version, it didn't matter where the files were, it detected it and everything was fine.

Has anyone else noticed similar behaviour?

Nobody having this kind of issue? I had it happen again today - I followed the logic to create identical structure...nothing, wouldn't detect.

I then copied the files under the original structure - Still wouldn't detect. I finally removed the dot between the file name (from American.Dad.S03E14.avi to American Dad S03e14.avi) and it picked it up ok.

This never used to happen and I really would prefer not to have to go back to the older version and start again from scratch with it :(

I noticed this as well, it should bring up a virtual keyboard so you can manually type in a new series to search. Choosing a different series to search by the configuration tool is the only work-around.

This could be a Skin bug, im using Monochrome at the moment but haven't had a chance to debug this yet.

Regarding your other problem, im not sure can't say I have seen any issues.

Yeah I am having loads of issues importing stuff. Take a look at this thread

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/my-tvseries-162/bug-large-3000-episodes-new-install-imports-fail-39282/

If you want to go back to an old version then you need to save your database away somewhere (just in case) and start with a new one, so delete the db from the local path. The reason is that sometimes a newer version will chane the db in a way that makes it incompatable with an older .dll (not always). I did a lot of testing with various versions over the weekend and that is how I found to reliably roll back.

The issues you are seeing, whilst it would seem related to show name, folder location, etc.... are not. I too came to that conclusion at fist; but if you backup your db and delete, then try to import the shows that are failing ie jsut point to one of your drives not all of them) it will import happily. The issue seems to occur when (or at least more reproducably) when your db is large, uses difeerent naming standards and is split accross multiple folders (although I don't think this last one is all that relevant as I have combined all my shows into one folder with DFS and also get the issue).

When you get a failure close MP and open the db with SQLlite database browser (google it, it's a free app), if you see local_shows with a -minus number then you are getting the same problem.

As for the GUI based entering of a show to search, it is not a skin bug, but a bug with 2.0. You should also have noticed that the plugin is a lot worse at guessing the show name now and usually comes back with an empty list if an exact match is not found.

You are absolutely right. I saw the minus numbers myself. It seems then that deleting the incorrect entry and then rescanning a couple of times, adds it correctly eventually. And yes, matching is poor - I had the same issues with CSI as you when using the config tool. The gui doesn't allow manual searching. I have around 2000 shows spread across 3 drives. They all follow the same filename conventions, although folder structures are different occasionally.

I never had this problem with the previous version (MP-TVSeries 506), although it is possible I hit the invisible limit of shows at roughly the same time as the upgrade.

The one thing I didn't do was a complete re-install using the 506 version and starting with an empty db. I guess that would tell me if it is some form of capacity issue or if the new version has an issue that wasn't there in the old version...

I probably won't have time to test as extensively as you though - But I will let you know what happens regardless

    Cheers
