Hi,

I always had that problem with some channels and I finally decided to report that bug with all the required information.

Symptoms : On some of my DVB-C channels I just get a still picture and no sound.
Tests : I recorded a few seconds of one of these channel (CNN) and played the file fine with VLC and using graphstudio with the following graph using haali media splitter as the source :

haali.png

And then the same graph with MediaPortal tsreader and I get the still picture case :

tsreader.png

Attached is the .ts file and logs playing it from MediaPortal.

Good luck squashing that bug,

Thank you.

Christophe

Please contact to Ambass, seems that this TS recording is playing nicely with some older TsReader.ax version.

    Hi,

just figured that the problem I am having might as well be related to this one so thought I post it in this thread.
If it's not related please let me know so I can create a new thread for it.

    Synopsys:
    1. start MP (with log collector)
    2. start Radio 'Radio 538'
    ... Radio starts playing
    3. stop Radio
    4. start Radio 'Just Chillout'
... on MP Client no sound and counter stays at 0:00
    5. start Totem Movieplayer (Ubuntu) and connect to rtsp stream
... Radio is playing... (on linux machine, not on MP client)

    Logs attached.

Note to Ambass: logs are collected on MP client with your 'custom made' TsReader.ax (more debug nfo)

    Thanks for looking into this.
    Regards,
    Ruud.

    CHli, Ruud,

CHli, Your file palys fine here with SPDIFER and do not work with MPA.

It's an old issue with MPEG1 ( and/or ? ) monaural channel and some codecs.
You must use another audio filter.

You must use another audio filter.

Here the file fails to play with current TsReader.ax with ffdshow audio decoder. If I revert the TsReaedr to the older version (before the zapping improvements) then the file plays ok with the same audio codec.

Here's the TsReader.log that shows issue with the timestamp handling:

I normaly watch TV with ffdshow audio decoder. I will try other decoder (but if it doesn't work with ffdshow there must be something wrong)

I can't remember being able to watch CNN (and a few other channels) from my DVB-C card and I've been using quite a lot of MP versions (since early 2005) ;)

So I think we should spend a bit more time trying to understand what is going on here.

How can I help you ?

    I've re-done some checks :

    MPA ffdshow(MP1,MP2 : libmad) ffdshow(MP1,MP2 : libavcodec)

"Old" TsReader No sound ? No sound ? OK

"New" TsReader Frozen picture Frozen picture OK
+ quick end + quick end

Frozen picture + quick end is also reported in another thread.

do you use libmad or libavcodec ?
