Very good, that gets us a bit further now, I think.

There have been 2 changes between 9503 & 9495 that could affect this. We gotta check them one after the other.

First check is: Rev9880

Please report back if that version works. If so, the new way of logging that has been introduced is to blame. If not, I still have an ace up my sleeve. Let's see.

That's a no go. I applied rev 9495 which worked and then rev 9880 which didn't.

Oddly enough the remote didn't workt at all with rev 9880, with the other svn and stable i've tried the remote still works but the system is unable to recieve tv.

What?! What does TV have to do with this now?

If the remote is working or not is not that important now. Does MP crash or not? Can you come to IRC? Might be a bit easier to let you test several builds then.

Thought this was already explained. But that might have been another thread.
What happens is, when mp starts it crashes but continue to load and, as far as i can see, works perfectly (including remote) except that it can't recieve tv, you just get a black screen.

No, i can't seem to connect to efnet. Says my ip is banned, which is odd since i haven't used irc for several years and never efnet. Most likely the owner of this ip before me who screwed it up.

Anyways, what was that other ace?

Thought i'd just verify that a clean xp english with all updates and the same drivers i used previously works perfectly. No crashes.

EDIT: That is, with 0.2.0.4, havn't tried svn since i dont want to use it on my parents final machine. the problem, as previously noted i think, did appear on 0.2.0.4 as well.

Okay, now I know what you mean. That's a side-effect of the exception that comes up. Throwing that in just confused me now.

The other ace... Well, it was a fix for remotes not working after resume from standby/hibernate. I gotta think a bit about it what I should do now without bringing back the old problem (which affected ALL remotes).

Hi mPod.
I couldn't see you on IRC, so I didn't know if you could see my response - therefore I write it here as well.
The latest svn 9886, and you new remoteplugin.dll allowed MP to start without any crash, and everything is working in MP (the weather, movie, songs, TV and EPG) BUT as you also stated, the hauppauge remote doesn't work in this set up.

BUT no crashes during start-up. Confirmed on both my computers.

Sorry, I had a HDD crash, so I wasn't able to return to IRC.

Good to know that it didn't crash yet. Over the next days I'll rewrite some code and then we'll see if all is good again. I'll let you know when you can test it.

Get latest SVN and exchange your RemotePlugins.dll with this one, please.

This is just a test, it's not for everyday use. It still needs some work, e.g. MP doesn't exit properly, etc.

I just wanna know if I'm on the right track. Just check if you don't get a crash on MP start and if the remote works.
