Thats a good point, you dont configure codecs in server only in the client for playback..

hmmm wouldnt be a codec issue then
what cam are you using and what encryption is it? Im using Irdeto CAM and enryption.

What are your system specs?

Otherwise do a search here for windows 2003 and see if you can find what issues it has

System spec is in short version.

P4 2,6 Mhz,2Gig mem,Nvidia 7700 something card and a firedtv dvb-t card.

TVserver installed is version: tvengine3-12-27-2007--01-09h--Rev16742

Got a conax cam in it now but no card so can only see free channels.

If I'm not able to record in mpg format is it possible to convert ts to mpg?

Dont know if this has anything to do with it but I have a firedtv box as well but its DVB-S

and I can record in mpg from it

However with my DVB-T I have major problems recording to mpg

So I'm not sure if maybe the mpg record issue is related to recording dvb-t streams only?

Sounds alot like it.....
Maby its a bug in my drivers or something but its kinda hard to say as I dont know how the tv server works when creating the mpg file.

A programers view of it fould be nice here.

Thx for any help on the issue

I am also having problems recording to .mpg where .ts is fine on all channels. I have gone through all Digital TV channels here in Australia and recorded a short section of TV (from within the Live TV screens). From there I used VideoRedo to check if there was audio (it was missing on one channel) or if I could open the .mpg file (it wouldn't open on some).

Are there any other Aussies (in Sydney) that are having the same problem for each of the same channels ? I'm using the SVN from today, 8th Jan.

The main TV channels in Australia (Sydney) are :

ABC, ABC2, ABC HD, 7, 7 HD, 9, 9HD, TEN, TEN HD, TEN HD1, SBS, SBS NEWS, SBS HD

I found that ABC HD, SBS and SBS NEWS didn't record a valid .mpg file and VideoRedo could not open it at all and Channel 7 didn't have any audio when checking through "Show Video Program Info" in VideoRedo.

My main reason for wanting to record in .mpg is that the Fast Forward & Rewind functions work really well on a .mpg file. On .ts format files the Fast Forward/Rewind does not show the snapshots of the picture as it's progressing so it is difficult to know where you are up in the file and have to keep stopping to check.

Let's hope someone takes notice and looks into these issues... I wish I could but unfortunately I don't have the skill set to do so...

Same here with TV Server Rev. 16600 and a TechnoTrend TT-C1500. Recording to TS works, recording to MPG results in zero byte files.

stoked

Has someone submitted this as a bug to the bugtracker? I did a quick search and didn't see anything there. If no one has I can submit my info when I get the chance.

Oops, I can't submit anything, I guess only devs or mods can.

Just found this Thread which refers to issues when recording .mpg files. https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/empty_recordings_cpespacket_fullbuffer-t23203.html

    Unfortunately the comments are :

Please don't expect mpeg support to be fixed soon - if at all!

The team's highest priority is to get the tve3 stable and useable for the most people. This demands all our resources and therefore a "bonus" feature like mpeg recordings can't be addressed yet. We would be happy of course if there is a community coder skilled in C++ who wants to help out there

    Doesn't look very promising...

That's unfortunate. When I try to record in .ts format I can't record at all, in mpeg, I get no sound with HD. Using Dec. 20th SVN. I guess I'll try the latest, I recall there being some recent .ts recording fixes.

    stoked

DVB-T has this problem ATM with mpeg, ts should not, so please post info as my signature.

    Thanks

What components are the TV server using when recording to a mpg file?
