Entering on the MyTv window when an other video is playing, cause problems with tv functionality. For example, when a DVD is playing, entering in mytv home causes the DVD video to display in the TV Preview space (in the right) and not being able to watch a TV channel.

    Steps to reproduce:
    - Start MediaPortal.
    - Choose a DVD and start playing it fullscreen (I used a local DVD image on my NAS - Not iso)
    - Press the green button in the remote control and go back to home screen.
    - Notice that the DVD image should still be displaying in the small preview windows on the lower left corner (B2 skin).
    - Open MyTv (in my case, not configured to auto turn on).
    - Notice that the DVD image is now displaying in the bigger MyTv preview window on the right.
    - Trying to turn TV on or change the channels doesn't do anything now.

    This behavior is always reproducible.

I'll be attaching logs in the coming days. I'am traveling now and can't access the server to reproduce the error and generate the logs.

I know it might be a stupid question but why do you want to watch TV at the same time as watching a DVD on the same client machine.

What happens if you hit the stop button? The DVD should then stop playing and the TV start.

I think this is standard behaviour for video files in general, and in my opinion is correct.

What were you expecting to happen? Do you think trying to turn TV on should stop the DVD?

The point is not trying to watch both at the same time. It's just a navigatrion issue. It seems wrong to me that when you enter MyTv you have the DVD (or any other video) in the TV preview panel.

Also, doesn't seem practical and consistent that you should first stop the DVD and then start the TV. If you are watching TV/Video/DVD and want to start listening to music you don't have to first stop the video. MP stops the video and then plays the music. I think the behavior should be consistent.

Even if this is the behavior, looks strange to me when you click Turn On TV and nothing happens. You have to find out that you first ned to stop the other video for only then start the TV. At lest a message should be displayed (something like, do you whant to stop the other video and turn on TV)?

    Hi

I've become so use to stopping everything before moving into the next thing, but I tend to agree with Joboehl a little. I think it’s a preference thing, because there is nothing wrong with the way it is working at the moment but I also think that some things should change. For example, when listening to music/radio the DVD/TV should be allowed to play visually without sound.

    Cheers
