Yes. Or cleverly hidden behind a false front that can be tilted towards the user on hinges? Flip open, press the ON button and whatever buttons might be needed. Just a small hole to allow remote I/R?

Hello,

Just noticed this thread, and you guys talking about the power buttons/HDD LED and so on... Well i just recently got my HTPC case project pretty much ready, and have a blue LED power button from ebay, also reset button and wire set for buttons. Costed about 12€ including shipping from China..

Personally, I don't like LEDs shining towards my face when I watch TV, so I would say neither. Also, all external hard drives/media players use forward facing LEDs and it looks cheap. Perhaps having a LED at the bottom of the case shining down to give it a very subtle glow + showing the user whether it's on/off would be nice.

I agree with this, atleast HDD led blinking at night.... damn it's annoying! So made a solution that HDD led is on bottom of my front panel, shining lightly to desk/ground, really have loved the solution so far!

I'm very pleased with the case how it turned out to be. I can post images of it perhaps, if someone is interested..

Btw, the power buttons LED is very bright, too bright! So added a 20 kOhm resistor to power buttons LED, now it's very cool, just very little blue glow, can sleep at night too.

I bought that year ago and it has worked like a clock. Really recommend it to anyone, also its small. Then ofcourse remote, RC6 supporting, example this:

(I have that exact remote too, used it couple years, works on MP without any hassle)
