From experience one thing I noticed is that when setting up the TVSERVER powershcheduar for the first time the TVSERVICE needs to be stop/start cycled for all PS settings to take effect.

This may possibly be the reason your logs show little PS activity during your standby test.ie no decompose, no card dispose, no wake-up time set etc.

Hi,

Um, I didn't specifically restart the service after the making the power scheduler changes, but the machine was rebooted multiple times afterwards so I'd be very surprise dif the changes failed to stick. What I'll do when I next get the chance is take a snapshot of my XP build, revert to the vista build, dump all the log files then repeat the test and post a new set of logs....certainly a problem than has driven me nuts....
