RC3 - choppy livetv / no signal / on dvb - thread restart (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I'm not using ffdshow and have the problem, so it's not related to that.

One thing I've noticed is that I'm getting the "The Channel is encrypted" message more often in the 2/1 CVS snapshot than in 31/1 - but picture doesn't go away as often as I get "No signal" in RC3 and RC4 snapshots. In fact I have never received the "The channel is encrypted" message in RC3/RC4 - has it been removed?

i will try out 31/1 now to see if it has the problem.

Hi,

I just tried the 31-1 CVS [on RC2] and my Technotrend Budget DVB-S still works fine.

I will try 2-2 tomorrow.

i also tried the snapshot from 6/31/2006 and i get the "no signal error" on the first start, but the TV-pic was there. After closing the message all works fine. But in this case only one card was configured.

I've installed RC2 and the 31/01/06 cvs release and I still get the "No Singal" message and a black screen. When this happened I noticed the HD was still chugging away (as it does when timeshifting), so I went back 15 seconds and the picture came back...

1. Card Name: FloppyDTV (one card only)
2. Card Type: DVB-S
3. Country: UK - Sky/Dragon
4. If you restart MP does the signal come back? (Y/N) Sometimes
5. If you change channel does the signal come back? (Y/N) Very rarely
6. Do you require a reboot to be able to use TV? (Y/N) No
7. Do you know of any tricks to re-enable TV without restarting / rebooting? Start/close myTheater, restart MP

Im still getting the nosignal error with 31/1

So im going to try mediaportal-cvs-01-15-2006--01-03.rar and ill se if its any good

This bug seems nasty, I've been running the 31/1 and the 2/1 snapshots for about 4 days now, the 31/1 build seem to be rock solid when it comes to MyTV.

I've setup my computer in multiboot mode(2*WinXP Pro SP2) and I have changed between the different installs approx every 3 hours. One XP install has CVS 31/1 and the other one 2/1.

My results so far is:

CVS 31/1:

- Have received "The channel is scrambled" approx 10 times, I have lost picture once but audio was still there and when I changed channel everything worked ok.

CVS 2/1:
-----------
- I receive "The channel is scrambled" a whole lot more frequently and sometimes I loose picture. 99% of the time I get picture back by changing channels.

ohdarklord: Have you check that you don't actually have poor reception? A simple way to check the signal quality is to scan channels in myTheatre, if it takes more than split of a second to scan a frequency that usually indicates poor signal quality.

I rented a signal quality meter from a tv dealer here in Stockholm and according to that one I have 98% quality and strength. I have a quite powerful Triax antenna.

I have two digital boxes in my house and both of them get a good signal

I used media portal before this error and it was perfect apart from a few minor problems that have been worked out now

Within 10 minutes of installing 31/1 i had the no signal error twice

I just reinstalled it (just in case i was wrong as you seamed to be ok with it) and it had the error again when i was surfing through the channels


So far i have tried

15/1 couldnt get to work
16/1 worked like a dream for about the hour that i was testing it
31/1 no signal
2/2 no signal

just adding my expirience:'
Latest cvs(or whatever its called) from today:

I can watch tv but once every 10 minute it looses the signal but it comes back after 5 sek. If I record that show there is no stutter in the recorded file. Only on live tv.

i'm running with a twinhan dvb-t + ca

Morning peeps,

I'm on RC4 with SVN from 24/4/06.

Last night I had some recordings scheduled at 10pm on BBC1 and Channel4.

I was watching Channel 4 anyhow and when the programme started recording I got the no signal error (no pitcure or sound), I popped up the guide and switched to BBC1 (which was also recording), BBC1 was fine picture and sound no problems, then I switched back to channel4 and got the no signal error.

At this point I flicked the TV over to weatch the programme as it had started, and during the adverts I switched back to MP and tried again but still no signal, so I switched the TV back over and watched the rest.

Once the programme had finished I went back to MP and looked in recorded TV and started the programme from Channel4, would you believe it, it played fine all the way through with no loss of signal.

So....during LiveTV MP reported no signal, but in the background was still recording fine.

I have the log but don't know if its worth posting, let me know.
